Trouble steering

Hi recently my 2006 cobalt has been having trouble steering. The steering is getting really stiff to turn. No lights or anything have come on Just stiff steering. when you make a turn or move the steering wheel it sticks in that position until you turn it back. Any help on this problem? thanks Mitch

time to get your power steering motor recall done at your local chevy dealership. if you already had it done then check under your dash for the connector to the power steering motor to see if its plugged in all the way.

I just had mine done, and it certainly feels different. Are there different motors for the different trim levels? Can I be sure they didn't put an LS motor in my SS? It feels kinds of dopey at low speeds but really gets nimble when I'm going fast.

Also it clicks sometimes so I'm taking it back.

steering gets easier the faster you go.

all steering motors are the same. the clicking is from them over tightening the 2 bolts. make sure you get a new motor.
