i would stay away from buying a kit, cause you dont get nearly enough that you truely need!
when your turboing your car you want gauages so you canmoniter whats going on.
one of the best gauges you can get is your Wideband, stay away from narrow band. then the second most important one would be the EGT Gauge (Exhaust Gas Temp) this will help you see problems before something bad happens. alot of people dont realize the need for the EGT and just over look it. then lastly you should look at oil press gauge and oil temp gauge. these just help with the oil.
then you think about your gauge piller, i know alot of kits do not come with these so thats an extra thing you gotta buy.
dont forget a clutch if she drives a standard.
some kits dont come with intercoolers, intercooler is a must if you want maximum life out of your turbo.
what kinda power your looking at going with? cause then you gotta look at your axels, should you be upgrading them?
then you wanna look at getting the power your making to the ground. torque dampner, tranny mounts, motor mounts, tracktion bars, and so on.
you wanna think about a oil catch can too, kits do not include that.
and with all the power your making you wanna think about handeling, you said its lowered and its on rims, what about sway bars, sub frame bar, rear lower strut bar, frotn strut bar is a no go with turbo unless the charge pipe is ran under the car pretty much, or if you dont have AC in it.
and with putting all that stiffness to the wheels you gotta then think what about the tires lol, are they rated to handel all this? and so on.
there is MANY MANY MANY people on here doing turbo kits, and i would say 85% of them are custom kits that they are making them selves. just watch their builds, and read their build progress, i have a build thats about 80% done right now.
i hope i didnt go on to much about this, just trying to help, but if your only looking for 40-60HP Gain then a bought kit is perfect, even though they are like 1,500 or more USD
im so far on my build just under $5,500 spent, and that includes my stage 4.4 clutch, engine dampner, tranny mounts, gauge piller, 5 gauges, rods, pistons, head gasket, alarm, clutch instal, and a few other goodies, but thats also CND money.

and also
to budget a build
Ebay Turbo - 200 bucks
Manifold - 150-175
Piping and BOV - 150
oil lines and coolant lines and feeds - 100 bucks
guages - wideband(200) boost(50) Oil pressure (50)
Tune - 300
Injectors - 50
Spark plugs - 30
Intercooler 1000
Pretty sure i hit the ESSENTIALS there
put away 1500 and you can turbo your car, because im sure i forgot stuff..smaller stuff
this of course is a BUDGET build
i spent less tahn a grand on what i got..i believe and its runs amazing. But i got damn good deals on everything
Im running a T25 turbo at 11 pounds, stock internals and stock clutch. My clutch slips, but it holds. And i was on nitrous before this

Vulcan turbo kit
ZZP 2.4l turbo kit
Hahn 2.0 lv.IV turbo kit
i believe those to be ur only choices to a bolt on kit, u can piece one together like mentioned above for cheaper...places to get parts for cheap: vulcan turbo can get you turbo manifold, turbo, wastegate, oil feed/drain lines, ZZP for injectors and harness, ebay for the piping and coupler and interncooler, go with a HKS bov, trifecta for a tune, nd than just some elbox grease to put all that **** in
ZZP 2.4l turbo kit
Hahn 2.0 lv.IV turbo kit

out of stock u didnt get the memo? hahn is out of stock, call them and ask, and i coudl care less what engine they have, its a cobalt, they're all the same for a turbo set up, i can rip the set up off a lsj/tc and throw it on my car and it woudl all bolt in the same, same pipe routing, everything...same goes for a 2.4

go with garrett, one of the best setups ive seen for the cobalt. plus they are having a clearance on theyre kits. it may be a little more expensive then piecing it together, but there is nothing but quality. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ight=clearance
