turbo options

I have been looking into turbo options lately
I am finished with the body on my car, the interior, and my suspension is almost finished.
Motor is next on my kill list
Im not wanting to go huge and put out big numbers and run low 1/4 mile times.
I have never built a turbo car. This will be a learning experience for me.
If later i want to go bigger and faster ill buy a faster car lol
for now this is what i have looked into a simple t3 turbo setup on low boost so i can run a stock motor.
How much boost/hp would my 2.2 be safe up to?
Turbonetics T3 & T3/T4 Turbo Turbochargers: T3/T04B, T3/T04E, 50, 60
this is the manifold i have looked into.
What kind of exhaust set up would i need to run off a turbo. can i do a zzp dp? stock?
What kind of turbo kit would be good.
I have seen some on ebay for around 1000 w/ external wastgate all it would need is oil feed&return lines and a bov. good idea or no????
Also would a 2.4 intake manifold be able to work and a 2.2 or would i need a different manifold? or could a run my plastic one? << that dont seam like a good idea to me tho

Skimming through it psi is irrelevant I wouldn't go past 250whp. You have to have a down pipe to fit the turbo, stock/etc won't work. 2.4 mani works but isn't that plastic aswell. Saab mani should work. I wouldn't go cheap with an eBay kit. Turbonetic is expensive I would just hook it up with something from ZZP.

i thought the 2.4 was not plastic. Im only looking to break 200 whp. turbonetic manifold is only 299.99. is that a bad price?

T3 is too big for 200whp, unecessary lag.

you need a disco potato or a mitsubishi 14B sized turbo.

Maybe a Borg Warner K03-2080 or K04-2283.

200whp you could probably just use the oem set-up off a Saab 9-3 with the LK9. Though I always though a Vulcan mani with a 16G would be ok.

It is small, but 200whp is on the upper-end of attainable w/o a turbo at all. So you dont need much to achieve it.

Then get a properly sized turbo for your power goals.

Get a proper dyno tune. No tune is safer.

And dont get power hungry and turn the boost up later down the line.

If you wanted to drop the cash for it I would go with the ZZP turbo kit. However you do need your own tune. But 6 psi will be safe on the stock motor you could probably squeeze 8 if you really wanted to. And you will break 200hp lol.
