wanna build my 2.2 up for more boost!

hmm... I just went through the build book again and i'm ready to do this. I have one question though. Do I need to get the adjustable cam gears it says to get? Can't Vince change the timing through a tune? and i'm not getting sleeves because i only want like 360-380 hp

Okay so i decided to go with a stock replacement head gasket but I can't find the part number anywhere! Is this something I can just get from an o'reillys or the dealer? All i can find is the kit http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P2295C129.aspx
but i already bought ARP headstuds. Should I just go with cometic?

I gotcha man haha I'm not saying ur wrong at all and my biggest persuading point was that it is safer lol I said if ur tune isn't spot on that things can go bad quick but ya you can do either or just my opinion is to go lower compression for the multiple reasons I mentioned the biggest being extra safe and him having an extremely low chance of breaking something once he would be fully built

Eh safety is overrated, I like pushing the limits.
Glowbalt from 240-300hp is the limit so far on pistons, I have yet to see a rod break, even though the build book say they bent a rod. 400hp is the limit on the stock sleeves, some have gone higher but broke later on down the road. 500+hp and the stock cast crank is now the last factor it can stress fracture in high stress situations. The downside Eagle discontinued there L61 crank long ago and there not easy to find. Other options are in the 1000+range there excellent pieces but will hurt your ocket book, not to mention made to oder.

I would say say so, the stock L61 head doesn't flow much at all, espcially if your going to up the boost. You'll be pushing more cfm then the head can handle, if the head can flow more cfm, less boost is needed to make the same horsepower. The l61 head will always be a restriction point espciallty on the exhaust side since the head ports are tiny.

Going to the dealer to pick up the head gasket tomorrow and then all i need to get is valve springs and main bearings and rod bearings. I don't think i'm going to get retainers since zzp's site says they are recommended for aftermarket cams which i'm not changing this time around. I can't wait to get this done. I'll be doing most of the work the 19th cuz I have drill next weekend and won't be able to do anything with it.
