Want make faster k plz thx :)
Hi guys
Been reading alot the last couple of days.
I've got an 05 Pursuit 4Dr with the 2.2 BASE model
It already moves pretty good for an econobox (where i'm from cars like this have a 1.6 motor usually)
I understand my car has roughly 145 horse right now (at the crank), I bought it used for 8 grand, and it has 50k on it. Black on Black
Already done the airbox mod, but I'm going to go grab that retardedly cheap intake from jdmsomethingorotherparts.com (the 40 dollar one), can't hardly make one for that little
Pacesetter header with DP and no-cat-back, seems to be the cheapest solution around, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to wind up buying a nice full-length header (whats the cheapest full length, or cheapest header solution period?) and just doing a custom 3' from there into a good muffler. Local muffler shops charge **** all for cutting and welding, custom exhaust system WITH muffler is around a hundred buckaroos.
Whats the cheapest way to get myself a 2.4 intake mani? Who has the adapter for cheap/free?
Anything else I can do?
Cheapest way to lower car? SS/SC Springs? or no?
Thanks guys, hope I can get some input

ZZP seems to be the popular header followed by vibrant. you dont need a 3inch exhaust unless your going to go turbo; a 2.5 will do you good. CED has the 2.4 intake manifold for like $250 or something close to that. hope that helps.

Go ahead, spend more... doesn't mean you're making more power
I'm from the volvo world in tuning, where 50 dollars gets you ... well, alot of horsepower
All though it's a different league, what with turbocharging and all, there is still power to be made cheaply.
intake and exhaust is just plumbing, I have no reason to pay more or less for it if all I need it to do is flow?
So, anyways, if you guys have nothing but "witty" comments, and no actual new information to contribute, please don't bother posting

I'm interested in the Cosmo short throw shifter, it works for the F23 gearbox? (2.2 manuals, non-sc were the 170lb/ft F23 afaik)
Cheapest lowering springs? Best handling mods for the money? strut braces / anti-sway bars?

I wish I was all knowing And most of this stuff has been covered in detail, just thought I'd use this as a way to see if anyone was selling anything used, also I wanted to say hi and introduce my car a bit

Cool thanks!
Another quick question, looking at my wheels that are 4-lugs, they look like a revamped honda hub, will any old 4x100 honda wheel or toyota wheel work?
What's the offset of the stock 15" steelies?
Are there good after market brakes available for the front rotors of my car? if so, where and how much? The stock front rotors are developing serious brake material deposits "fake warpage" and I constantly have to cycle them to get them straight again .. Don't want to do that anymore ...

The ZZP stuff is pretty expensive. The pacesetter header is OK bang for buck? or no?

I think TurboTech Racing sells nice rotors and pads for the 2.2, more then a few of our vendors sell them. You can find a list of our vendors here: https://www.cobaltss.net/vendorindex.php
And yes, the stock rotors are FTL

trust me, bigger IS better. Flow ftw
and a dollar less for more flow? == win
I'll just make a downpipe, it's just plumbing

ok for 1 the 2.2 does not have VVT, the 2.4 does. secondly bigger is NOT always better. if that were the case why dont you just take your entire exhaust system off. you need to have a balance between backpressure and exhaust velocity. if you have too big of an exhaust system there will be no vaccum created from the exhaust exiting the cylinder. this reduces exhaust scavenging and does not let the engine run as effiecientlyas it could, especially in the low end (loss of torque).
