Weight to HP?
So theoretically cars run on a horsepower to weight ratio,
so a 2012 mustang runs 305 hp and weighs 3700 pounds, so the ratio is 0.82
and a supercharged cobalt is bout 220 hp, weighing at 2700. so ratio is 0.81
Would the cobalt keep up or go faster?
Corrections if you have em.

or you could divide hp/weight, like that you see how many lbs each HP has to push, i think thats a better way of measuring, but ofcourse thats just power to weight, not counting gearing, traction etc.

its not just about horse power to weight. its about drivetrain loss, launching, and gearing.
gearing plays a huge factor in acceleration. take a stock lsj and take it to the track, for example my fastest time bone stock was 14.225@100. throw in zzps 4.45 transmission. i bet you it would have done 14.0 if not better. drivetrain loss is another factor. just cause the engine makes that much horsepower, doesn't mean thats what it is to the tire.
you guys can't see it cause he deleted it but AzraelRaezier made this post above
that camaro probably is a 12 second car. and your friend beat him from a 40 roll all day because he's not running 12s cause of the horsepower, he's running 12s because he can launch the car a lot better than us being that its rwd. when you put that car in a roll race, its not going to fare as well as it would on the track.
take my old car with the m62 setup and my friends 95' z28. on the street i would beat him from ANY mph roll. but at the track he would always run about .3 sec faster than me even though i would be gaining on him and always trapped higher. thats because our cars play "catch up" at the track. we can't launch so we make up for that with horsepower down track. most of the time when i beat a rwd car, they're ahead of me in the first 60'-330' and then i over take them.
thats why rwd vs fwd trap speeds are so different. rwd cars can get a better launch and don't need to accelerate down track like we do to achieve the same times. one of the guys i bracket race has a DD barracuda that will do a 13.7@~93-94mph. for a cobalt to run that ET the trap will be more around 105-107mph.

FWIW, i watched a stage 3 sc cobalt walk all over a claimed "12 second" camaro. was the older ones. like late 90's
beat him from a 40 roll every time.
