And what kind of changes have you noticed? Butt dynos are fine by me. If it has about the same effect as putting on the CAI then I am definitely getting one.

More than just a CAI, it's made the power become more linear, and I got a boost in fuel mileage, and more than anything it's just has better driveability, but yes the butt dyno says yes. Check the post about biiger manifold on 2.2, If you consider that I had a 15-25 MPH headwind yes it's going to make a difference. And do your exhuast, it's great if you get more air in, just remember it's gotta go some where!!

I installed mine and it feels like I lost low end power, but gained high end power, gained gas milage, but it idles rough, and I had to adjust the idle bolt to prevent stalling.

I don't have it installed, but I'd imagine its likely to lose some low end power because of the increase in space for the air to flow through, however you're higher rpm horsepower will likely be higher. I'm by no means experienced modding cars so someone with more knowledge like NJHK of Halfcent could better speculate on how this larger manifold will effect 2.2 performance. That being said we really need a dyno run. Someone manual go buy this and get yourself to a dyno! lol

I still have a rough idle that I cant figure out. Im figuring that once I put the LSJ header and dp on, it may smooth out with better air flow both in and out of the motor.

What kind of car did you install it on NextLevel? AFAIK, all cobalts have electronic throttles. As far as needing to adjust it, did you have to adjust it to let less air in because the upgraded manifold was allowing more air then it thought it was?

Did you install the PCV orifice plate in the center of the manifold (between the 4 intake-to-head gaskets)? If you missed that your engine's idle will suffer.

It's not a cobalt it's an Ion, and if i remeber it's an 03-04 w/ cable operated TB, that has an idle adjustment screw somewhere on the TB itself.

I checked for leaks, thats fine, and yes, its an 03 ion with a cable tb. I adjusted the throttle bolt, but I still have to adjust more, the car stalled with the ac on at idle. For the guys with the electric tb, what rpm are you idling at?

you can get it from crate engine depot. I upped the idle to about 1k today and everything seams to be working fine, except the idle bolt striped out, had to use vise grippes to turn it. But the so far the rough idle is gone, but I will have to see in the morning when I do a cold start.

yea you can get it from crateenginedepot.com or there are links throughout this thread. and its so easy to install. no need to go to a shop

I wish I could get my idle to stay at 1000. Then I wouldn't have any shaking from my poly mounts! I got my intake mani, but I'm waiting until Sat. to install. I will give my .02 after I've tested it out.
