who had the dual exhaust drawing/will this work

Dont tell me to search because i did and still couldnt find it but who had that drawing of how they did a dual exhaust on the cobalt... DONT FLAME ME i have my reasons for wanting duals but with that aside i was thinking of using a magnaflow 40 series... 1 inlet/2 outlet.... running the 2 pipes to the back and then putting rolled tips on it... i just need to know where i should put the muffler if i do it like this or if anyone has a diff suggestion go for it (NO FLAMING). Any idea on how this will sound... i have a pacesetter header, magnaflow hi flow cat, tenzo can, and no resonator right now.... figured itd come out alittle lower sounding with a flowmaster muffler (oval style so no more fart can.) ... then 2 pipes with resonating tips on them rather than 1 pipe with a basiclly hollow fart can right at the end.

I dont care what you do, just dont go with a flowmaster, unless you want it to sound like ass IMO

it's a four cylinder engine, there's one head, you can't have "true dual"

you prolly could do it if you used 2 straight core models. or those moroso ones.... i think a chambered muffler would sit too low.

Make a dummy pipe, cause like slowion2 said you can't have true duals, its point less.

4-2-1 header and use the 2 section as a collector lol ive herd of it being done but besides the point i have a header already..... basically i need to know what would work better under the car..... a single traditional 1 in 2 out muffler with tail pipes... or a pipe sectioned with a Y junction and 2 seperate mufflers with tips

honestly, most dual systems EVER are just two tail pipes split off of one, with either one or two mufflers.... maybe get a bypass valve that switchs from a muffler to an open pipe when you need to REALLY annoy the neighbors.

yeah a 40 series flowmaster is going to sound like ass.actually like rice ass. plus be really loud. but if it is what you really wanted, in thoery it could be done. i just cant remember the underside of my car. if you put it where the original muffler was it would fit, but the dual outlet would be just for show that far back. a 40 flowmaster is like having less than a glasspack on there. and i havnt seen a glasspack used for a mufller on a 4 cyl in a while. it used to be the thing to do. but on a crx one time i saw a 40 series used as a resonator with a glasspack as a muffler one time that wasnt too annoying. i just cant really recomend what you got planned, and a good old fashioned muffler man probably wont either. unless i have my flowmaster numbers backwards. i havnt worked in a muffler shop in years. but i was thinking the 20s and 30s were thier race muflers. i could be wrong.

just take it to an exhaust shop and tell em what you want bro

all they're going to do is run a single pipe til the rear of the car and then it is gonna "Y" off into 2 exits. I wouldn't go with one muffler with two outlets if you want to keep the rice level down. Have it Y off into two separate mufflers and tips.

so 2 mufflers will lower the tone then? makes more sence i guess...... now the question is, 2 can style mufflers or 2 oval (flat) mufflers

ok heres a better idea..... i have this right now...

would i be better buyinh a second one and running duals with 2 of those? or would the sound resonate deeper with these

i herd the flatter oval mufflers like the one in the second pic are nicer/less ricier sounding.... right now i have header hi flow cat and no resonator and its loud as sht.... will running duals with mufflers like in the second pic quite it down and deepen it alittle maybe?

I would get the oval style just because thats more my taste and they would probably fit under the car better without hanging down low.
