Okay, look at it from a marketing stand point. When your watching tv and a dodge ad comes on to the tv, what do you normally here.
"GPS Navagation, ON Star Equipped, Leather Interior, 4 Star Crash test rating, all powered by a new 2.4L 172 Horsepower 2.4 Engine"
The numbers are made up,but you still get the point. What matters to people (most people) is the power. You don't always hear the track times, although I will give you that they do use the 0 to 60 times a lot in sports car commercials. People like to know what kind of power they put down.

Dyno shows how much raw power you have
Track shows how much of a good driver you are
He's trying to find out how his CAR is performing, not himself. Also, you keep saying that dyno #s change from day to day...uh...so do track runs. If you run on a hot day and run at a cold night, there can be very huge differences and you can have 500 WHP, but if you can't drive, you can't drive, so no, track doesn't display how much power increase you've made, it just tells you how good of a driver you are.
Also, running at the track has way too many variables to determine if you got a good gain or not: Temperature, Tires, Suspension, Driver skill, Shift Points etc.
Just let it end here, HE WANTS TO KNOW HOW HIS CAR IS PERFORMING FROM START!
I'm not downing the track or you but this is what he wants to do, fine, you expressed your opinion so just let him do what he wants.

Yeah and you guys didn't say let it go for the past 2 page... the thread starter thanked me for my opinion and that was that, then all you "defenders" started posting and keep posting.

you can slip the clutch a bit and get a hell of a launch on these. but id imagine its bad for the clutch so ive only done it once. but it was a noticably better launch than i normally did. that was on the stock conti's tho, cause they tend to lose traction. on my falkens i probably wouldnt need to do it as much.

best tires for traction that are still good in all weather conditions that i have used are the pzero neros. I had the eagle f1's for a while and they were amazing for flat out traction, but in the rain they almost got me killed a few times and forget about it in the winter....of course i have rwd so itd probably be better in rain and such on your cars, but i reccomend pzero neros if you want good all weather with some good traction.

pirellis are just good tires, my focus came with pirelli p6's all season and they had good traction, i barely spun out, and they were good in rain, the only problem is they dont have very long tread life...like just 16k miles..
