Question Is this worth the money?

Is this worth the money?

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P1817C137.aspx

How much horsepower does it add? Can you feel the diffrence?

How hard is the install?

Is it a do it yourself or should it be pro installed?

Just use the search there are tons of threads about the 2.4 manifold. Some like it some don't, personally I like it. Only down fall is your powerband moves alot higher in the rpm range. Search around the forums and see if it's something you would want or not. I installed mine with no problems. The manifold includes instructions.

That depends on what you think extra power is worth...

Do a search and you can find what people have reported about gains up top and loss down low.

You can look at the install instructions from that site. You can tell the difficulty from them.

Some people build motors themselves while others can't manage to change their air filter. You have to make your own judgement.

What they said. lol

Alot like it. Some don't, me included. I think it has its place though and probably is much better when combined with cams.

That is a mod I would save for last, right when you get a retune.
I hear that alone it does good things for the high end, but is a lot better when tuned.

Ask yourself whether you want power on the freeway or at the stop light.

I personally like power on the lows and mids because if you are using the power on the freeway, your probably going to get a ticket.

Your right im looking for power on the low end, mainly for 1/4th mile track.

Any suggestions on what i should get for a quarter car?

Should i get a supercharger and get it installed or a turbo?

I personally want to go turbo and i already have people that are willing to do it that do a great job, i dont know anyone who does supercharging.

The people who are gonna turbo me are - http://www.fastlaneincorporated.com/

Bad ass **** they have done.

Hey, if you're going turbo definitely get the manifold. Once you get your system installed and tuned, it will be so much better. If you're worried about performance now, then hold off until you are about to get your turbo installed, but the 2.4 mani compliments turbo applications very well.

I'm holding off on a turbo because basically there's no good shops in my area, and I'm going to build the motor up before I do it so I won't be limited to the 7-8 psi the stock internals are good for.

If youre building a 1/4 mile car, you want this intake.

I have one, I theres a thread in the HowTo section on how to install it on an 08(others similar)

I believe that with the exception of "NAWS" this is absolutely the biggest horsepower per dollar bargain there is.

Like others, I was concerned about the shift in the powerband, moving what little power the engine has farther up in the revs. Well let me tell you something, after the second day with it, I didnt even notice. It doesnt affect day to day drivability. It just opens up the top end.

I may be wrong, but I think the people who say they dont like it, dont have one. I dont know if anyone has actually installed one and then removed because they didnt like it.

If youve got an 07-08 dont buy the kit. Just buy the parts listed in several threads here, youll save about $60-100!
