On the engine coolant temp topic, have you guys with interceptors tried using the controls in it to turn the fans on? Whenever I see engine coolant temps jump up while sitting in traffic or wherever, I just toggle the "fan high" on using the interceptor and temps drop right back down. It works on 07 LE5's at least...

291 seems high, but I don't know how close these things are anyway. I dyno'd at 231whp with 3.3 pulley. Didn't have the interceptor at the time. Then added 3.0 pulley, header/dp, H/E, and tuning, and recorded one run and it showed 245hp on the interceptor. That would mean I lost whp compared to stock pulley ....butt dyno says no faaaakin way!

hmm Never tried to toggle the fan. Cool ill have to look in to that thanks. The hp on the interceptor is more so or less reading at the crank so in reality minus aprox 20 for whp. I just came back from juv cruising and data logging. Temps went down to 79 in buckeye i hit 297 on my interceptor. I would have pics but cant upload from my phone.. So when i get to my computer ill post pics! Very happy with the car. All thanks to you all. Especially hunter gene and jn2 for all the help answering questions. Also could have never done it without my friend thanks buddy. (Spent the week over there used his garage drove his car and helped with install specially with the torch..lol) thanks all.

If I had 285 I could see 291. I would make sure you've messed with the altitude parameter on the interceptor. It does need to be calculated with the altitude properly.

I didn't need to cut my intake manifold gasket... I think only some of the l61 heads require it... I have an 05 ls supercharged... All of the cavaliers require it because of the exhaust gas or EGR... most of the build info that people get is based off of that tho. Super easy good fun, took me a little over 2 months to get everything together and all of a day with a buddy who know's nothing about cars blabbing to get it done and street tuned. Although I still have yet to install a heat exchanger.

There is an altitude setting in the menu options.

That could be the reason why I didn't have that hole there and didn't need to cut it. I didn't cover any holes up with the gasket.

Wow you guys are that low elavation. Tucson sucks here. We're close to 3000ft at our track, around 2300 is what i've found for Tucson. I tried my hp reading on my gauge last night. Only did a small run in 2nd from 40-70, showed 260. I wanna do an all out run for fun. I know these things aren't accurate, but cool to see some kinda close number.

SO, good and bad news..... well, good news is that I tested her out and here are the results!

run 1
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...0918090438.jpg

run 2
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...0918090436.jpg

i got back to the house, and just did a check on everything, found some oil on the bottom of the pan. I wiggled the dipstick tube and it broked off........

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...0918090537.jpg

that sucks, so i need something anything to fix it like asap.. that is broke right? I dont see how that is supposed to stay in the hole.. it just falls out.. Next I noticed when I turned my key to "on" my intercooler pump was not pumping... turns out a wire came off the terminal. I need to get the pigtail.. so im not sure if that affects the hp or not but still need to get it fixed.. meh. Then to top off the night, I raced an evo he obliterated me from a dig. and he ran off.. lol.. so thats my night, now need to find something to plug that damned hole for now..

correcto!

i had to remove my oil pan, get the little nub of dipstick tube out of there, then i installed an LSJ dipstick tube (sine i had to buy a new one anyway...why not buy the one thats made to fit the setup? lol)

dont forget new gasket sealer!
i tried just unbolting it, then bolting it back on...i had an oil leak Use a fresh application of oil pan gasket maker when you reinstall the pan.

i just went in to the dealer and ordered it. they had it for me the next day. it was like $30-$40

the dipstick itself is like $55, so i'd check n see if its the same length as your L61 dipstick.

Good HP readings.

I wasn't sure if you could use the LSJ dipstick or not. The LSJ oil pan is deeper, so I doubt we could use the dipstick itself. I wonder if you can use the LSJ dipstick tube and then use the L61 dipstick itself?

i just measured it. the braided part is 17.25 inches long. That isnt including the solid metal part that actually has the markings for low oil.

No problem. I suspect we'd have to use the LSJ tube and our dipstick, but that is just a hunch. I dunno if it will work or not.
