y cut out pipe

i was thinking about building my car into a sleeper so i figured instead of getting a full ******* exhaust just get a y cut out pipe and attach it to the end of my new header/downpipe/hiflowcat do you guys think this would work? and what is your opinions about it?

Go for it. Its cheaper than a catback, and will no doubt give better results.

Even if you have all the bolt ons possible you will still be a sleeper because no one gives cobalts props

DO NOT DO THIS, WORST IDEA EVER.

I LEARNED THE HARD WAY.

barely room for a cutout, way too much loss or low end torque and sounds like *******.

I'm sure it sounds horrible, but wouldn't it be alright for drag applications? You're never really in the low rpms on the track anyways.

high end gain is not enough to justify this POS.

I really enjoyed my cutout on the Ion. It did transfer all the power to the top end, but for me it was a nice gain. On the bottle the difference was night and day. Less tq, but a much stronger top end. I felt that it made it easier to launch.

Also didnt have any fitment issues. Put it exactly where the cat was.

why not just put the cut out on, when at the track keep it closed, make the launch, at 5k flip the swith and ope it, that will allow you to keep low end trq, since you only see the low once, and stay in the high end after that

take like 7 seconds to open, it doesnt just flip open that fast.
