You'd have to swap the entire harness/PCM, then try to get it to play nice with the BCM and the rest of the network. It's possible, but not worth it IMO for a base model auto car. In good shape the car is only worth a couple grand, so you're gonna buy a broken one, then spend hundreds of hours swapping everything, to end up with another base model car?

OP its pretty easy to do in an 07+ l61 car if you have hptuners
i have an l61 car, swapped in an 07 le5, used a 10 lap engine harness, and am running an 08 LE5 tune on the stock ecu.
anything is possible

Value/time issue, nothing wrong with the car itself. If you value your labor hours at zero then anything is worth doing. Personal choice.

All the hours im going to be putting into this is nothing for me atm, I'm currently on EI atm so i got plenty of time until i goes back to work. Me and my father would be worth on this together so he'd will give me a hand with all of it. lets say i bought this car Cobalt for parts $400 ono | used cars & trucks | St. John's | Kijiji and i took everything out of the lap and put it into this white cobalt, like i mean everything the guts and all, would it be possible?

thats not really necessary...
I left all of my internal body wiring alone. There are a couple connectors you have to repin but thats not hard at all. All 07-10 base models use the same ecu. Since you already have the ecu you need, you would probably only need to do a VATS(vehicle antitheft system) delete and the car would start right up.

Yes, that exactly what i did.
There is one connector that goes between the two big ecu connectors and that will have to be repinned, but its pretty simple. once you get there i can get you the diagrams

Could you get me the diagrams now for future purposes and what about the vvt on the lap, do i just got to hook up the extra harness and put it the ecu?
