Talking how important is a intercooler and heat exchanger?

Im planing on getting the zzp turbo kit for my 09 LAP 2.2, the stage 1 price is around $2,000 the stage 2 comes with a liquid/air intercooler, heat exchanger, IC pump and lines, and 39# injectors instead of 33#. for an extra $600. So can i get away with the the stage 1 kit or should i upgrade to the stage 2? All help is greatly needed and appreciated thanks.

Save for a couple more months then. If you ever want to go further than stage 1, you'll have to get those upgrades anyways...

an intercooler will drastically help. cooler/denser air is always the main goal. just get an air/air.

the inter cooler is very imnportant. You can go with out but i wouldn't It also lets you run more boost. But if you go bigger then what you need you will get some lag.

Just get the stage one and get an aftermarket air to air intercooler and bigger injectors for less than half that price

U will also need a custom tune right?

cools the coolant down as it exits the intercooler before it runs through the water pump and back into the intercooler.
