08 "sport" vs "07" SS

i just don't get why peole are so insecure with the badging that they want to put other badges. it's always the lower models that want the badges, and body kits to look like the other cars. most sc guys take the damn badges off, but the 2.2's and 2.4's want the badges. just always seemed odd to me.
#53
yep. exactly like the wing scenario. many guys that have the hi rise hate it, and don't want it. all the guys that have the low rise want the hi rise though

You guys are pretty pathetic for attacking another person for what they like, then making false accusations about his or her tastes. And then telling him he should shoot himself in the face, for a lack of security with the model of his car. IMHO you need to go insert that gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. You're not impressing anyone by being some "smartass" wanna be on the internet by calling somebody a ricer becuase they were asking about badges, then calling his uncle a janitor when you honestly have no clue. If you don't believe it, then ignore it and don't talk about it. You show everyone that you're nothing more then an under-aged e-thug. Now come one, you're either supposed to be more mature then that, or you are at the age where you should be maturing. That's why your state allows you to drive, cause you should be mature enough at your age to make a responsible decision.
I personally like the look of the highrise wing, therefore I'm gonna buy one when I can afford it. I'm also gonna keep my lowrise incase I decide I don't like the highrise. My badges are also staying on the car, not becuase it "adds 15HP" as some of you so think, but becuase everyone else is removing theirs. I don't want to try and fit in, seems as though some of you are insecure with being different and having your own tastes.
OP, ignore what the flamers try saying. They can't accept individuality, its too overwhelming for their simple little lives. Uh-oh, now they're gonna get mad at me and call me a ricer.

I have a 08 sport, i dont know why everyone here gets so up tight about a little badge you know what your car has, anyone that knows what they are talking about isnt going to dispute that your 08 sport isnt as good as a 07 ss/na for the sole reason it dosnt have a ss badge.
#57
The body kits are different and a sport does NOT perform the same as an SS/TC or SS/SC.

The "Sport" badge is simply more fitting of the car, considering it's only a middle-of-the-road performer.

Ever see a cavalier SS? or a honda civic dx with an SI badge? What your dooing is what the Rice boys call a "conversion". Say it to yourself one time in your head I bought a 08 cobalt sport and converted it to an SS. its only worth boasten to car guys and those who don't know about cobalts will see the wing and say pfft he has a fake SS, those who do know will think pfft thats not a real ss. After all a real 2.4 SS you can't turn off the traction control not reasonably anyways.

i like my 2.4 SS/NA, could really give two ***** less if people think it doesnt deserve the badge or not. It handles way better then the ls/lt model, has good performance and takes well to power adders and overal a nice and sporty feeling car.
I have driven the LS 5 speed, the SS/NA 5 speed and the SS/SC; and the SS/NA performs overal much closer to the SS/SC compared to the LS model.
Does the SS/SC and TC perform better, yes of course but i still feel the 2.4 overal deserved the SS badge because of the much better suspension, braking and a more powerful motor.
Subaru has simular badging also if you guys dont recall. Subaru WRX and subaru WRX STI

all I know is that my 08 'sport' has a vehicle locator sheet right from GM that says that it is a 08 SS ('na' for those of you too stupid to know that they also made a na along with a sc and a tc)...but I am going to have to scan it and show it to all of you...anyways its my car...I like my car...and I am not 20 somthing anymore... so I don't have to prove anything to my e'peers or anyone else for that matter...I do what I want when I want...you don't like it...don't look...everyone on here hates the hash marks on my car too...but you know what...I don't care...LMAO...and in the spring I am getting new wheels after I take my winter tires off and guess what 3/4 if the ppl here will hate them...but guess what....I don't care...*giggle*
so in closing...do what you want...its your car...you either paid for it or are making the payments for it...F*&$ them...when they start making the payments then they will have a say...

I have no problem with the SS/NA or the Sport. i think they are nice cars. What I do have an issue with is when people try and make their car something it's not. I"d make the same fuss about someone who took the "SS" badges off their SS/NA and put Sport badges on. it's just retarded. What is the point of trying to pass your car off as something it's not?

ok, i gots an idea. why dont you just debadge the whole thing and call it a day. it will look cleaner and it will save any further arguing.
but im not taking sides, but IMO you should be proud of your car, no matter if its a $500 pinto you bought from some junkyard or the new ferrari that hasnt come out yet.

my thoughts are always to do whatever you want to your own car. but don't think that everyone has to feel the same way that you do. people will ahve different opinions, and you have to take the good with the bad. when you do things to your car, not everyone will like it. yea, some people are ******** and state their opinion the wrong way, but really who cares. do what you want and don't look back. but, like i said, don't think that everyone else should think the same way you do.

I'm not a lower model than a 2.4 SS, if anything my like 3 extra ftlbs of torque make me a teeeny bit better. So from your viewpoint, I'd want the lower model's badges? The hostility is seriously not required though...
Why would I need a body kit? SAME exterior. If I badged my car as an SS none of you would even notice until I told you it was an '08.
