08 "sport" vs "07" SS
#176
Why they did not do what they did with the ION 3 I do not know... ION badge. 2.4 badge. DONE. No Red Line **** of which to speak. Cobalt LT on the left. 2.4 on the right. Done. Or they could have done Cobalt Sport from the beginning. Rack up another fail for the General.

now that very much agreed

Shoulda been Sport from the beginning... But all you morons saying it didnt deserve the "SS", learn some history, there have been far worse cars that wore the "SS" badge.

I had a 1990 454SS truck back in the day. The sad thing about that truck is that it had 230 horsepower. Terrible. But there was 385 lb/ft of torque at 1600RPM! If I did a brake torque, the burnout would not end until I lifted. And I am not exaggerating. Was it worthy of the SS badge. Not by today's standards, but considering the cool **** that was being built in 1990, it was worthy.
And it is much cooler than the SS 2.4 liter.
And if you bought a sport in 1990, it was identical, except it said sport instead of 454ss on the bed sides, and it had a 350 instead of the big block. If you switched the stickers, you would be gay.

Thats right there have been, and all but a few deserved it more than a measly 170HP 2.4. I am not ripping the car, it just shoudl have been called sport, your right, just not Super Sport. Except for a few exceptions, all of those were dead on with the cars that are/were out at the time.

Yea, the 454SS was a bad ass truck at the time, there were a few tweaks to it and it would run in the 14's without spending any money. For the time, and the size/weight of the truck, it was a pretty good performer. My buddy had one, and I remember beating out a mustang one night up till about 90.

Update 1: My uncle (engineer for GM, he helped design our little light sensor on the dash, haha) sees no problem whatsoever.
Update 2: I badged it, and no ones noticed, complained, or excessively flamed on me. Even the people I told saw no problem in it.
I'm usually not hostile but I really don't appreciate being attacked. Thanks to those who were civil.

Jussst sayin, man. No sense of community on here sometimes. Just "I'm better than you, I'm smarter than you, you fail, but not as bad as your car fails" attitude. This is a forum, and I asked a very non controversial question not even coming close to expecting the hellfire that would rain on me. It would be one thing if I asked if I could put a roof spoiler and a sti badge on. I don't want to stir up the pot. I'd just like to bring awareness that a lot of the responses I got were NOT cool and I'm not a ricer in any way shape or form. A simple "I wouldn't do it" or "I don't see a problem" would have been fine.

QFT. As long as you keep coming on here to defend your decision, people are going to respond negatively like this. Just move on with it and don't hold your breath on people on the internet suddenly becoming polite and respectful, especially when they don't agree with you.
#197
Well, I'm not a ricer AND I know the difference between they're, there, and their, so as long as I don't get flamed in the real world I'll be content. It just sucks I can't come on here and say anything without getting a WMD up my ass.

Off topic: We need to hang out sometime Jaemon52!

Haha, thanks dude. Yeah we should. It's too bad I'm living in Kalamazoo right now and the weather is ****. However the spring/summer will be different. I'll definitely be on woodward with a few people this summer, you should go with us.
