You should be in the area of 180whp with a full bolt on 2.4 man. I put down 171 on a super humid day with full bolt ons so with better weather and a tune you could be in the 190-200 range

With the mods on my car I should be around 185-190whp and I'm an auto. I need to find a dyno shop to find out my exact number.

did the tune help you, like with performance and gas?

The tune helped out a lot. The car shifts faster and the pe delay is now gone. My gas mileage improved somewhat. If you keep your foot on the pedal it will burn FAST but for regular driving I avg over 30mpg in the city.

First sentence is correct. Last part is not.

Skip the catback and get a Header and Downpipe. 2 of the most popular brands are ZZP and Vibrant. Expect around a 10-15whp gain with just a Header and Downpipe. It will cost you between $400 and $650 for them. Do some research...

So you're telling me you anticipate 20-30 horsepower from good weather and a tune? (171 to 190-200hp) Come on.... that's just ridiculous.

Stock dyno for a 5-speed 2.4l is low 150's. It's been dyno'd over and over for baselines. You're telling me it's possible to gain 33% of the car's stock horsepower just from some exhaust/intake mods and a tune? That's fantasy world.

There has not been a single instance of a fully bolted 2.4l putting down anything outside of the low 180's. And I can think of very few that have made that at best. It'll take cams to get anywhere near 200whp.

Well he did dyno at 171 with JUST an intake. That's excluding other bolt on's (header/dp, exhaust) and a tune. With a good tune he should gain around 10-15hp. It's very possible to be within the 190-200whp range.

Oh I see, I see... he must have one of those SPECIAL 2.4l's. I stand corrected then. I was just basing his numbers off the countless number of other 2.4l's that have been dyno'd at various stages like his on all kinds of dynos.

Sigh.

yeah i cant see 171whp with just intake.. seems fishy.. i dynoed baseline 145 with intake and weld on magnaflow muffler and weld in high flow cat.. after that i tuned then ended up with 159whp... seems like 180-90 would take a fair bit of work to even get that..

though you seem on the lowend of the scale honestly.

I believe his 171 with just an intake. He dyno'd 173 I think with full exhaust and intake in high humidity in north carolina during a NASTY humid raint day. I'm quite sure that will affect his numbers

I wittnessed his dyno. Plus, I ran 147whp right after him on bad plugs/poor gas.

I'm not doubting that low 180's with full bolt ons and a tune aren't possible in good conditions, but that's the extent of it. That's not 190-200whp.

You guys compare your numbers using Dynojets and dynos on rolls I bet...

Dynapack is precise and COULD be compared from one car to the other, assuming similar atmospheric conditions
Dynojet should only be used for tuning

On a Dynojet, you can change your numbers just by playing with the straps.... so that's not accurate to me

200 WHP on our cars would mean that you're at roughly 241 HP crank..... ridiculous!
That would be a jump from 171 HP to 241 HP

A fully bolted naturally aspirated 2.4 can go just over 180 WHP (a few have done it), and that's really good (180 whp is about 215 HP.... 171 to 215 is almost hard to believe)

I have a modified GMPP intake (modded similar to a K&N without the filter and heatshield) and getting a CA V2 header and XTC 2.5 highflow catted DP. Stock catback & muffler though (prefer as I don't want to deal with the cops for loud exhaust already got enough tickets with my old car with exhaust) How much HP might I put down? Also would getting mandrel bent catback pipes hooked up to the stock muffler make any real difference? Or should I just leave the stock catback and get a custom 2.5 over the axel pipe instead?

you also factoring 20% drivetrain loss which is incorrect figuring he's a 5 spd car. So factor around 10-15%. So according to your numbers this would be closer to acceptable number for you.
