2.4 N/A round track engine

Im building a 2.4 engine for pavement oval racing the parts will consist of

molner rods
diamond 12to1 horizontal ported pistons
total ap stainless ringset
clevite hardened rod bearings
ati underdriven balancer
supertech .5 mm oversized valves int/exh
arp head studs
zzp 72# springs
balance shaft delete kit
my sleeves

the head will have the casting flash removed and smoothed
the crank will get lightened and the key way extended
the complete rotating assembly will be balanced

I am considering sending the crank here after balancing and lightening Performance Metal Micropolish
the micro polishing will be good for oil shedding

Well it's already high compression and people are adding boost to them. I'm sure it'd be a snappy, revving, son of a bitch when done.

So what are you planning to set the RPM cut off to?

That's because very few people around here have actually discovered high compression.

Local Honda guys run 12:1 on street car setups, the race cars are 14-15+. But for a street car without DI a 10:1 is pretty good. Most cars are creeping into the 11-12:1 range now with the proliferation of direction injection.

10.4:1 according to the manual but might as well be 10.5:1, a relatively common compression for all motor high performance engines for over 30 years with the invention of premium fuel and electronic ignition.
