2.4/sc question

So my car is a 06 2.4/sc and I was just wondering....how the hell do you launch these cars? I wanna try doing a dig race because I feel ill be able to get more power towards the end since it takes longer to shift and since my car is auto I cant downshift but I dont know how to launch it without spinning out. Also going to try going to the track after I get a badmad header and dont want to embarrass myself as much. Anyone have any advice?

Hold brake, floor it, wait until you want to go then slide your foot off the brake so they disengage quick.

Depends on how much low end torque you have. If you do then just modulate the throttle to limit wheelspin.

I see. Well yeahh it spun before I added my zzp dp with a very conservative tune and I'm about to get tuned for it tomorrow so im guessing it would spin even more now that the tune wont be as conservative. I guess just like halfthrottling for a bit? I thought that before but thought maybe there would be a way of launching like how you said with the brake thing but without spinning

Leave off idle and pedal through first gear and go either of 2 ways - 1. WOT in mid first and spin the rest of the gear or 2. keep pedaling and wait for 2nd to do WOT

Sucks we cant limit boost per gear like LSJs can

Like said , dont just stab the gas when you want to go. Practice peddling a few times before racing, you'll get it. I did a few practice launches on the street before heading to the strip and ran 2.1-2.2 60's first day at the track with the sc /5spd.

No doubt. Especially dumb with a little boost.

Have you been to the track before op? I have only been there once, but the traction is crazy. You are not going to spin as much as you think. Not even close to street pavement so its hard to practice unless your there. You can use way more throttle at the track.

Also I wanna learn how to go on the street because I want to race my brothers friend that has a honda and I dont think he goes to the track. lol I will more than likely get a vid if this happens.

Should definitely go to the track. Fun experience for me. I want to go back a few more times this summer.
