2.4L cobalt ss vs. Silverado SS

alright so i was on my way home from the gym today....when i ran into a silverado ss awd with exhaust.....he stomped on it...so i was doing about 40 downshifted from 3rd to 2nd and punched it and immmediately started to pull.....thought those things were fast guess not....neways does anyone have a black s/c wing that they wanna trade for my smaller wing? btw....as dumb as it may sound i took my stock airbox out and extended my piping about 5 inches and put on a filter....but its still sucking up air from the bottom....i went from losing to stock type s rsxs to beating them? guess our cars respond well to mods? btw it took about 5 days for me to really notice a diff with the intake mod....love to hear ur guys thoughts....thanks

Ummm... My roommate has the Silverado SS AWD as well. Stock... they are very beatable. BUT he Superchip'ed it... I still blow the holy hell out of him from a stop and big time from a roll... but with out a govener now... he says top end he would catch me. But he says he beat an SRT-4 here in town on the interstate the other day... he's not one to BS... it actually only came up in conversation because he got pulled over. I don't know though. I've never gone more than a mile or so with him. and always turning left onto the interstate.

Nice Kill though... they have BIG powerful engine.

i went from losing to stock type s rsxs to beating them?
I was wanting to race an type s to see where we stand because they have 200 ponies stock but i guess i know i should be able to kick some ass if i ever run across a stock one.

OK, so I was changing my air box and tryin' to haul a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood when an SS pick-up went and beat me to the plywood but I managed to trade him my wing for his bed and now I can haul a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood while beating Stock Type S bottom sucking intake pipes...

Or something like that...

Sorry, just had to weigh in - don't take it SERIOUSLY!

Yeah, that's what I thought... he said the SRT took off... but he wasn't too far behind... and around 100 or so started to pull on him. I said... strange... since I can't beat an SRT (not that I know of) and you can... and especially since they are turbo... all TOP-END, and you caught up to them on the top end...

But I know the SRT he speaks of... and I have tailed him on the interstate before... so I think he either sucks at driving... or is a fake... but he can't be a fake, because i've heard his BOV and you can tell from his exhaust - Big Time. SO I dunno... I'd really like to race this SRT now... especially now that I have Stage2.

Strange... doesn't make sense... My roommate isn't one to lie like that... he admits when he gets whooped. But this SRT has Carbon fiber Hoor & Trunk, BOV (has to be aftermarket), and some sweet ass exhaust. So he must have money... so you would think he would have added some HP somewhere along the line. Oh well, time will tell when we line up.

The SRT driver probably got uncomfortable and didn't want to go any faster. Probably has 9 points against his license already.

Did you remove the negative battery terminal before the mod? It resets your computer instantly to relearn the new airflow.

No, my roommate would have known... the SRT gargles... and gargles LOUD when he lets off the gas. My roommate knows what it sounds like and looks like to let off... he races Sprint Cars for a living.

Thats kinda weird that you guys are beating the ss silverado's. My friend has one and he DESTROYS me off the line, then we stay neck to neck for top speed. But its weird because he doesnt have awd. But my brother has a silverado with a 350 HO, with 360 to the wheel and I own him, from light till line. But ill race my buddy with his ss and get it on video for you guys...

This year's model isn't AWD and is 2x's as fast as the AWD's... I know... my roommate has the AWD... his uncle has the 06 Earnhardt edition RWD... my roommate WILL NOT race his uncles... says it will Rape him... haven't seen it in action... but heard horror stories. I'd like to give it a go.

lol I wonder if they will come out with an earnhardt edition cobalt? I mean they have an earnhardt edition of just about everything else except our car's. That would be very intersting if they did lol

This year AWD is an option. You can get RWD or AWD if you want to. The AWD trucks will be slower cause of drive train losses but the RWD ones should be quicker.
