My buddies car always throws a check engine light when his temp displays ---. His car won't throw heat inside the cabin either.

Does your car still throw good heat when its above 100 degrees?

I told you what it is >>> I've had this problem >>>>> But what ever!
How Many Miles do you have? & when was the last time you changed your filter ? & what octane do you run all the time? All these things can make what is happening happen!

Stuff you did is completely unrelated to the --- symptom. It's pure concidence that what you did made it go away.

In most cases its sparetic when it happens. If you can't get heat into the cabin after a long time of driving, it's the thermostat. The fans will always come on when you have this problem to because the car can't tell if its overheating or not.

So you're saying the cars temperature will read --- when the air filter is dirty or the wrong gas is used. You have to be kidding me. This is a joke right?

Yes it will & it is all tied to emissions which is COOLANT, GAS & AIR Like I said smart ass do what you want. If it works he spends Nothing if it doesn't what did it cost him. The problem with these forums someone comes on with a problem>>> You had said problem, Resolved said problem BY making her switch gas & Cleaning filter after going thru service manual makes said problem go away, it doesn't take rocket science to figure out. You Know what the dealer told me when we took it in>>> Dirty injector, car had 22K & origanl air filter again Emission & IT's NO JOKE! Oh by the way I have all 3 Volumes of the service manual DO YOU, I also Have HP Tuners & was able to read the code it was throwing!

No I'm talking why he's car is reading---- Because the air or gas is bad & is also tied to the coolant for emissions & it makes the bars go---- another words it's telling 1 of the 3 are having a problem! Oh by the way it can also makes the car run rough & gets worse gas mileage!

Heater works great however air conditioning doesnt work at all the air doesnt blow cold as long as the coolant temp reads ---

My buddy has the same problem. It comes and goes when it wants. It could go months without doing it. Then it could repeat itself for 5 days straight. You can't prove you've fixed the problem when its repeated itself in a short amount of time. I know more how to fix a car and problem solve then I do know how to use a computer.

Clear the ignition if you have a check engine light & check the sensor while your there! Trust me last year about Oct my wife had this problem & I cleaned the filter. Now last week it did it again about 16k later did the same as before & problem solved! You could have also been getting bad gas, so watch where you buy it!

We have plans to replace the thermostat in spring when he can drive his second car on the rode and afford to have this one down.

And I doubt you've fixed the issue if its come back in 16k miles because my friend has had it come back in 20k miles once when he first bought it. He did nothing and it just went away a few restarts later.
