2.4L Intake Manifold In Development

well that set up is the optional "drag injection" as i am calling it, they have a normal fuel rail that is standard. But ITB are able to be used on the street. you just need the right tune, and yet you do make more of your power higher in the RPM range, but that doesn't mean you can't DD you car either.
#129
Cool thanks for the confermation. Just curious how would you tune a ITB setup like that to not run like crap on the road? Where would you get the air cleaner(s)? Not that im thinking of getting one im just curious.
#130
You need to fabricate an airbox or switch to speed density.

Manifold Details Discussed
Looks like all of the feedback is in. Thanks very much to everyone for their participation.
We'll be making determinations in the weeks to come as to what configuration we will go to market with. Once we have a finalized concept, we'll share it with you folks.
For now, if you'd like to get on our Cobalt Update List, just email your request to us: sales@turbosystem.com is the address.
Thanks again!

Hope in one hand, **** in the other, see which fills faster.
My guess is its gonna be another boosted specific manifold like the previous 2.2/2.0 designs.
Heres to hoping I am completely wrong though
#137
Not saying you are right, OR wrong..but I am curious on one aspect...what leads you to believe that a short runner/common plenum manifold is only 'boost-specific'?
#138
"boost specific" or not i know its going to flow better then stock, but it will be to much work to change everything to the other side of the engine bay. if you want it to sell then make it in the stock config.
#140
Have you guys ever come up with any type of financing options? I know you were working on it a few months ago, just wanted to see if you decided anything
#143
You realize they are out on the market?
Just go get any of the GM throttle by wire V-8 Throttle bodies.
There is no need to upgrade a throttle body on our cars.
No.
Look at motorcycles.
How does a 600cc motorcycle make 110whp?
Revving to 16k...same way the F1 cars make an assload of power...revving high and doing it effeciently makes the engine(which is essentially an air pump) able to ingest, compress, and blow up more air.
A pushrod 7.0L engine revving to 7k?!?!?!
Oh yeah it makes 505hp.

That statement is completely wrong.

any further updates as i am quite interested in what the final product is gonna look like and such. as i am looking to upgrade my stock intake manifold for my n/a build that i am doing.
#147
i want to do an N/A build and yes having a better stock mounted manifold would be ideal if there are strong gains for the other design and possibly updated intake tubing for it with proper maf sensor location i would still buy it. now i would prefer if it were in the $300 - $500 range rather then the higher priced ones but i guess for now i will just have to look for alternate solutions
#148
I hate to be correct on this, but I said they wanted to to do just another version of the intake they already have.
That sucks, I would love to have a better than stock flowing intake that was still NA friendly

Were we to offer a 2.2- and 2.4-specific version of our existing model, the scales of economy were much more suitable...at the end of the day, we still have to make a living, and there's no shortage of projects clamoring for development funds. Nonetheless, we have enterprising customers who've decided to use our existing design anyway on 2.2 and 2.4.
Perhaps in the future, conditions regarding this will change and a stock location unit will emerge. For now, the people spoke, and BOY...are we glad we asked
