2.4liter SuperCharger?!?!?
Anyone know if there's a supercharger or if theres plans for one for the 2.4liter ecotec .....all I ever see now is all the BS about the turbos but what about us WHINE lovers ??!?!?!

ya but I want the 2.4l displacement otherwise i would have just bought the SS S/C
under boost the 2.4l would be a torque monster lol

he meant swap the supercharger and necessary hardware, not the engine and all

Ya iam almost 100% sure you cant take the 2.0liter supercharger and jam it on the 2.4 ....atleast without alot of custom modding which in the end wouldnt even be worth it for the 50 hp or so gain might as well construct a 200hp custom supercharger

I"m sure the s/c off a 2.0 will bolt right on... also with the custom tuning available now (hp tuners) I don't see it being a huge problem and since they share the same ECU it should work fine... just need to tune... but you should see a nice gain from it, just make sure you intercool since the 2.4 has high compression, also you'd need to run a larger than stock pulley because 12.5 psi would probably grenade the motor (might take it with some good tuning though)

this could be done with probably less mods as you may think and the gains would be way north of 50 hp considering the engine is longer stroked and its compression ratio is a stout 10:1 or a bit higher. the same supercharger will produce different numbers with different engines. The 2.2L made 265 hp and 231 tq on only 9.5:1 compression and a good tune with the LSJ-borrowed supercharger, so I think the VVT 2.4L would be at least that much with less than aggressive tuning

this used to be true. when the Redline first came out it had analogue sensors. then the 2.4L VVT was released later with digital sensors. now both engines 2.4L and 2.0L SC alike have same digital sensors. not sure whether or not the ECU's are the same, probably are though

I have an HCI mag with an L61 Cavalier equipped with the LSJ-borrowed supercharger and the stock throttle body bolted right on. They did have to use an adapter plate, but that was only to make proper clearance of the TB from the power steering resevoir, something cobalts dont have
dont use the Lords name in vain when you dont have all the facts

I know this is my first post, but someone said that if you were to swap the supercharger onto the 2.4, that it would push 12.5 psi.....That is NOT true! Using the same pully, the supercharger will create less boost on the 2.4 due to the fact that naturally the motor takes more air in to begin with. So if you swap the supercharger, you will be closer to 8psi, THEN you throw on a front mount intercooler, and all the piping, and you will be lucky to see more than 5psi. I saw a 2psi drop when I added an EVO VIII intercooler. Just thought I would throw that out there, since buying a 2.4SS and throw a SC on, was what I was gona do. Later

the intercooler is in the manifold so using a fmic would be a total waste of time when i bored my vw from 1.8 to 2.2 i lost about 4 psi due to the engines displacement everythin else was the same ...so expect closer to 3-4psi loss using the stock gm pulley
