it should help a lot, the A/F ratio would be way off with those mods.

you fail, he doesn't have a tune yet. thus i was telling him that a tune would show improvement b/c the A/f ratio would be off with those mods listed.

did the tune make a noticeable difference?

Definatly will feel and get gains. I bumped up 10whp and 10 wtq on the dyno with only intake and exhaust. Could only imagine and what the header and downpipe will help. Mine was on a mustang dyno as well

personaly, id hold off on the tune until you get bigger injectors.

these cars are already pretty much maxin out the IDC with just an intake and exhaust.

with a good solid tune u can turn those maxin injectors not to max out..woot hptuners! and yes the auto reacts really nice to the tune if it setup properly.

once you can tune those will go down considerably. Mine are somewhere around 70 i believe. Stock injectors are fine for bolt-ons. When you go boost or start adding cams ontop of bolt-ons and start getting close to the 200whp mark then you need to upgrade the injectors.

Well it is a must for this car. GM should be ashamed of the lame ass stock tune on the 2.4 cobalt, it really is uncalled for bad. VMS Did a great job for a mail away tune. If you have an Auto definantly send in your tcm too. The difference is night and day. I honestly gained 2 mpg someware in the ball park of 15-20 whp and the 2.4 bog dissapeared. My car now breaks em loose a bit when the power enrichment hits needless to say im very pleased with it.

the tune is a must but i'd suggest replacing your stock injectors with the ss/sc injectors when getting the tune cuz my stock injectors were pretty much maxed out with the tune

You can lean the AF out a little and reduce the duty cycle, but it still goes up there on some cars. It depends on mods. But the way they have them from the factory they are not tuned well and are running higher IDCs.

The highest IDC I see on my car is 81% at 7k RPM's. And every other 2.4 I have tuned has had IDC's in the same area.

GINORMOUS == 5% whp max.

the important areas with a tune are those little annoying powerless areas, delays, factory nags, and unsafe afr's. everything is is just to stroke your ego.

GM High Performance tested the 2.4SS and mentioned that with an improved AFR the 2.4L should make better power. I've still never felt anything that impressed me on the 2.4L except for the auto tranny tunes, but they feel slow compared to most of the others cars I tune.
