The first time I went I expected a mid 15 and I ran a 17.2. That night my best was 16.0. Now my best is 15.5. I ran that when I had an intake,lsj tb exhaust and very crappy tune. Now I added header/downpipe and I'm using 93 gas on a aggressive tune. Plus new tires should take me to a 14.9 if I can get a good launch

The elevation of Topeka, KS where I'll be running is only 945 feet so my N/A shouldn't suffer too horribly.

Mine is like 60tf above see level. And honestly I have no idea. Definatly in the 15s. Get a downpipe, catback exhaust and an lsj throttle body and the car will be so much funner to drive

K&N: 15.94 -> ill say +12 = 185
Header: 10-15 -> ill say +10 =195
My exhaust guy said for cat/res delete, 2.25" axle back to 2.5" and the high flow magnaflow replacing stock, I should get up to: 10 -> ill say +7 = 202
Trifecta: 15-18 -> ill say 13 = 215

That's pretty much how I came up with 215. Obviously I didn't dyno each mod, I wish it was free, but as you can see it was just some addition. And like I said I'm dropping a legit cai for the track, and I'll be avoiding the burnout box (:

I was looking into an upgraded tb, but I couldn't find good pricing, and gains for it. Also I'd need installation instructions and would I have to get a tune?

My exhaust guy, who has done exhaust work for years and years, scared me off of buying an $800 cat-back exhaust, saying the only difference between magnaflow 2.5" catback and my stock one, other than the axle back which I expanded, is the fact that the magnaflow is shiny and expensive as hell. He said exhaust piping is exhaust piping, adding if I went to a 3" I probably would get negative gains due to lack of back pressure. My muffler is the only thing giving me back pressure, and avoiding fix it tickets.

Those aren't always right. And that's not even wheel power. Crank power doesn't even matter. If I dynod right now I'd prolly see 180whp

Get a stock lsj throttle body. Gains are small but whatever. LS4 tb is too big for na
And you will need an adapter plate for the lsj tb to work
And btw the cai and Sri intake does the same thing.

Without your fan running I bet you get 12.5.

In all seriousness though, that is dumb...you know your car will get hot really fast at low speed. If your unfamiliar with changing the stat just know it can be done in 30-45 minutes.

No seats is a good go fast mod. No spare and all seats will save you around a 100lbs+. Make sure your tank is less than half too. You can save more than 50lbs right there.

GL have fun.

I mean my mod list is in my sig obviously, the only thing I didn't throw in there is that I took out my seats and interior paneling. There will be plenty of videos, I have a bunch of friends that have helped me work on my car, so they're just as excited. Plus I promised ride-alongs, because a guy that works for HPT (Heartland Park Topeka) told me as long as I don't break 13's I can do so.

I'll be launching in "L" and my tires have at least 75% tread.'

If it does any good I recently lost to my friend's '99 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP S/C full bolt-on's by less than 2-3 feet at 110 mph.

Anyway, we'll see.. I'm excited, first time at the track, let's see how low I can get my reaction time, and I'll be sure to link vids and post pics!
Unfortunately i do think that you will stay in the 15's unless that trans is a freak. i ran a 14.9 with a K&N SRI and a Megan Cat back. (Thanks Noor!) however i am a 5 speed, and from what ive seen on here there is a big difference in times with similar mods from 5 speed to auto. i just dont think they can launch.

with that said, i hope you do break in the 14's i know alot of people dont think its fast, or its not worth it, but its fun. GOODLUCK!

BTW these are a good read, even if you've been before!

Yeah I am unfamiliar with changing my t-stat. I have the acdelco replacement and I posted a thread, but still don't know what I'm doing

You will need to supercharge or turbo to get into the 13s. My guess for you is a 15.7

I was joking about the 13's haha. But I'm sorry I have to disagree with you; I don't feel I'm at high 15's, but like I've said, we'll see. I'm going to stick with my goal to hit 14.99.

Well I'm not going to continue to beat a dead horse, because I'll know what's what after a few runs at HPT. But at least I did clear up one thing - how I arrived at my predicted 215 bhp. Can we agree on that at least?

No, LOL

We are just giving you a hard time.

We hope you succeed at 14's. We are going off past experience only.

Good luck

ya i know how you got it lol
but thats not accurate. You cant just add up hp from what the internet says. Thats not how it works. Every car responds to bolt ons differently. Not everyone is going to gain excatly what the website says.
