OP, if you want to shave some time, do weight reduction. Lower air pressure in the front tires and a little higher in the rear. Also do the youth football mod in the rear springs. Should gain you several tenths in the quarter.

he may not get into the 14's at first but maybe with a little practice.. my first run in my balt ever was a 14.2 @104mph

im sure if i was able to do more runs i could have hit mid to high 13's... my 60ft's were brutal at 2.5 because i was trying not to break anything since the wife and kid were with me and it was the only way to get home haha

I've got basic weight reduction done, by taking out the rear seats, headrests, jack, spare, trunk carpeting, rear side panels etc. I'll probably lower the air pressure in the front tires, and add more to the rear; I was probably going to drop from 32 to 27-28, and what should I raise the back to? Also, what's the youth football mod?

Gotta remember that you're running stage 1, and I'm [most likely] barely breaking 200 bhp

your on the right track on the fronts, i go between 26-28 depending on the temp that day. the rears i jack up to 50-55, just be sure to air down before you leave. also do leave you spare and your jack at home bring them there and leave them in the pits, unless your towing the car to the track.

the football mod doesnt alow the rear to squat. when the rear end squats that is effort loss, the chassis is rotating rearward, where you could be putting the power down.

You deflate a youth football, Place it inside of the rear springs and then inflate to a decent amount of psi in the football. Doesn't allow the spring to compress under hard acceleration. Then deflate when done at the track.

Just adds more pressure on the front tires where you need traction.

I feel like 50-55 is a lot of psi for my tires. On street tires, and I don't spin too much off the start, just a little. How much effect would the football mod have? I have after market lowering springs for a 1.65" drop in the back. And I'm not towing my car to the track, it's my daily ha so I'll be driving there, and running while it's still warm. The weather forecast for tomorrow says 48 degrees as the high, but it should end up around 40-42 or so by the time I'm running. Also says 56% humidity.

LS6 wins! Second run 15.38 @ 89.90 mph reaction time -0.012. I didn't brake start (hold foot brake and gas) I guess I forgot.. I was overwhelmed by the sights and sounds. I could be shameless and talk about the high point of my first trip which was the first run. Long story short: I found the sand pit before I found the turn offs. There's no explanation. Anyway first run 15.443 I've got 3 1/2 gallons in my tank so I'm only going to be getting faster. Also my cars been overheating I just changed the thermostat today, there's no coolant leak, but my coolant temp readout on the DIC has been around the 240 range.. So I'm confused. /: anyway first run was against a mid 2000's BMW 528i that ran a 14.913 @ 96. Second run was vs an auto v6 newer Mustang, maybe 2008, he ran 15.631 @ 94.65. I'll post pics tomorrow or early next week. And I'm racing for another 2 hours. I'm proud of myself for breaking into the 2.3's for my 60' (: my new goal is 15.300, I'm cooling my car off now it's at 180

you may have air in the system from your T Stat change. im guessing you used the correct 180* T Stat and after installing it you warmed the car up and topped it off?

BTW congrats on the decent times! keep working on them. did you mess with your tire pressures?
