all 2.4 guys and gals with k&n intake
So what do you all think about your k&n typhoon?
1. Worth the money?
2. What was the main difference you noticed?
3. Any Problems so far?
4. How is the sound now?

1. sure was
2. louder and more high end power (with just the intake and the gmpp exhaust i dyno'd 168whp peak)
3. possibly had excess oil muck up a couple sensors, nothing cleaner cant fix (just make sure not to over-oil the filter)
4. sounds pretty aggressive over the stock sound

its good its awesome the best intake out there but you will need a tune for it to get the full potential out of it and a good set of 32 lb injectors i am selling mine next year cause i am going stage 2 turbo from zzp or i might get the 2.4 strocker lsj from zzp not sure but i have to call them and see if they make it for an automatic tranny

1. if had the time and skill, could make one by hand and painted and make look good, cheaper and almost the same w/ a k&n filter.
2. car feel better under acceleration
3. none
4. really loud agressive sound if you dont have aftermarket exhaust.
going to sell mine or put it up for sale when i have the time.

you don't NEED a tune, but it's always nice to get your car tuned. if you're planning on throwing more money into performance mods (basic bolt ons). if you go that route, i would suggest throwing all of those parts into the car before you decide to get it tuned. that way you only spend the money once instead of a few tims.

1. Well I bought mine mint shape for $100 so yes it was deffinatly worth it, I wouldn't spend close to $400 for one though!
2. Lots more racket when you floor it, and a lil' more top end pull
3. no.
4. sounds awesome when you giv'r!!!

No you dont need a tune for it at all. Like others have said get the other mods first then tune. Somebody on here dynoed it with a gmpp exhaust and got 168whp so it will give you decent power for the price. I would buy it from turbotech racing, they have good prices.

I LOVE mine, its probably my favorite mod. A little more power notice, not much its more of a "supporting" mod but you can feel a little more power. I have had no problems at all. The sound it GREAT! Much more aggressive sound. Yes it is worth the money. Try and find a used one, after all its just a metal tube lol that's what I did

Two reasons actually. #1 you want to get your engine breathing better so thats why intake is important. #2 when you get header and downpipe your gunna want to get exhaust as well. Thats why i would get intake first then replace your exhaust system.
