anything to watch for when doing the s/c kit..??

So, I'm considering beginning to piece together the s/c kit for my 2.4.. I guess it'll cost between 1,000 and 1,500 to buy the parts, then probably another 500-ish for any random doo-dads and what not.. I'm gonna install the kit at my grandpas (who has built Corvettes since the 60's) and he could probably help me where necessary.. Plus, he has the power tools.. lol But what I'm worried about, is that when buying used parts and basically fabricating things, it poses a risk.. I need the car everyday.. It's my daily, and has since clocked 54k on it.. It also have to have OEM-like drivability.. Do you guys find this as the case for those of you who have done this? I'd basically do a standard build plus a CAI and smaller pulley probably.. Do you have to use a different header when running the s/c than you do for the standard n/a 2.4? I'd have to have 100% of the parts collected before I began, so I can take a weekend off, and work on it 24/7 until completion.. I'm not out to make the fastest Cobalt on the forum, but just add on a little piece that GM forgot to install on my car.. lol Mine's an auto also.. So I'm curious as to the tune and what-not.. Or, instead of going with a pieced together s/c, should I just buy a cheaper turbo kit? Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

At this rate i'll be the only N/A 2.4SS left on the site by the end of the year!

But nah, I think Dunkinuts plans on staying N/A too.

I actually chose the 2.4SS for the simple fact that it wasn't boosted. I just have an odd enjoyment of being different. I pride myself on saying that my car is fast(ish).........without the help of a power adder

But I do want the SC's front lip :P
