Autometer C2 Gauges.. Show em if you got em.

Okay, so I'm filling my time patiently waiting by looking at gauges.

All things considered, I'd prefer to find a single pod pillar from the ss/sc - but the only ones I've found come with the boost gauge.. which I don't want as I don't like the idea of paying $100 for a gauge I'm not going to use.

Therefore, I'm looking at a 2-pod pillar (likely C-A's) and I'm looking at autometer's C2 series since I believe they will match our existing gauges decently (open to suggestions otherwise!!).

I'm fairly sold on a mechanical 0-20 psi boost gauge:
http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugede...gid=3459&sid=2

But I'm torn on the 2nd gauge. I'm leaning towards a narrowband A/F gauge - anybody have this installed? And how's it working?
http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugede...gid=2484&sid=2

If that isn't the answer - I'll likely go with some manner of full sweep oil pressure gauge:

Question with the oil pressure - should I go for mechanical or electric.. or does it matter? I remember reading somewhere about someone having problems with an oil pressure gauge install, but couldn't find it.

Anyhow - open topic for discussion. Certainly appreciate input, and if you've got pictures of the C2 series (or another good matching gauge) I'd really like to see them.

Why in the world worry about a narrowband A/F gauge! That is a big waste of money!

The ultralites aren't backlit, right? They illum from the sides of the dial?

Never thought to have both a narrow & wide band gauge

Anyways yeah wideband gauges serve more a purpose, and are more useful when tunning your car.

Yeah, the only problem with the wideband is that they cost so damn much... especially when I'm considering it essentially as a 'filler gauge' since I seem incapable of finding a single-pod pillar.

GL i had those, WAY to bright at night bothered my eyes. The cobalt series are nice black backround and only the numbers and stuff glow dark blue not the hole gauge.

^^ Thanks for that head's up!! I really like the Cobalt series, just wish they blended a bit better with the rest of my stock gauges in the 2.4.

I'm kinda looking at these ultralites a poster mentioned above right now as well. Since they are sidelit incandescent, I'll bet they are a lot more pleasing at night.

I had the nexus series gauges...but i wouldnt recommend them at all due to the price vs the cool factor.

however they were some of the sweetest gauges ive ever seen. But ive got Cobalt Series Wideband, Fuel Pressure, Boost.

Then a Aeroforce Interceptor.

Why do people feel the wideband as a filler gauge....????

::slamsheadintodesk::

It's one of the most important gauges to run... but it's your car!

Agreed. Only time you dont "need" a wideband is if you can afford to goto a dyno everytime you do anything to your car (spark plugs, power adders, gas...) and hook it up to a O2 and make sure your at a good AFR.
