B&M install help 2.4
Hey guys I know there is a how-to for the LS model by HackAbuse, and I know that we both have the same trannies but when I went to install the B&M shift plus, I have different colour wiring then him. From the same plug, I open up the loom and I have the light blue with white stripe but no red and black wiring. I believe I am supposed to use the Orange wire instead? I just don't want to tap into the wrong thing. Any 2007 2.4's out there who have installed this? Or anyone who knows, your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

haha that made me literally laugh out loud!!!
when i first got it, it seemed like i continuously had to re-do the connection of the wires for it to keep working. so i made a bit of an adjustment.
for mine, i stripped about a1/2 inch of the wires down to the nitty gritty with a razor blade and literally just wrapped them around eachother (twisted them around eachother) on the spots that i stripped them. then i jammed it all back in the wire casing and taped it up with some electrical tape. has been working like a charm since.
tip: when ur stripping the wires, DONT **** UP

I have had some problems of mine not making a good connection within the box itself. I just gave it a good pinch together and squeezed it nicely under the steering wheel to hold it all together. I was only having a problem occassionally with stage 1, since then I have gotten so used to it, that stage 1 was no longer enough to excite me... I now ride regularly on stage 2.

Actualy the 2.4 has its own transmission with a different valve body and lower final drive gearing. I posted this stuff up about a year ago even faxed the pics to the mods so they could scan and put it up. Our electronic conections are the same tho and this is the best bang for the buck mod out there.

and i am happy with driving around on stage 1, in fact, i rarely ever switch up to stage 2 unless i wanna go have some fun and launch my slowbalt from a dig a few times.

Yea, Stage 1 is nice for daily driving. The only thing I hate is the lurch and sound your tranny makes when you pop it into drive. God, when I herd that I thought I messed something up.

yea but dont u have tranny mounts? i wonder if that would make a difference.....
wow i dont kno if this is a really noob thing to say but, i didnt kno the Ingallls ETD even worked with autos....

It wasn't a dumb thing to say, you just didn't know. I know that it works on autos because I believe all that Ingals ETD does, is reduce or dampen the amount of torque the engine makes when shifting, which means less energy wasted on torquing the engine, and more power to the wheels. It wouldn't matter if it was stick or auto. If I'm wrong, please correct.

Yes I do have tranny mounts and I was unsure about the Ingalls too... I know there is an engine mount that only works if you put the injen intake in since it opens up the area for the install. I could be wrong tho

well lucky for me i have the injen cai. im gunna try to do some searchin on this Ingalls ETD and see what kinda benefits a auto really gets from it.
well from what i have read is that it doesnt seem to make a difference if it is on an auto or a manual. its basically a mod that helps to reduce wheel hop and engine movement during shifting.
on the other hand, the ppl who have installed tranny mounts all seem to say that they are the best mods that they will ever do to their car....

Yea you guys answered it before me but auto or manual doesn't matter, and I was also thinking of getting the urethane (SP?) mounts soon along with the Ingalls. The Ingalls made a huge improvement since I don't have the engine roll like I use to, the ETD is highly recomended.
