Beck's Latest Supercharged 2.4 Build

Just finished up supercharging my second 2.4. Did this one a little different than the last but not by too much.

Currently runs about 11lbs of boost, not sure on HP numbers but she's quick.

Dude you should do mine! :P Nice build. Are you concerned with the bottom end at all?

Not too concerned about the bottom end with the power the cars making right now. Going to be putting a thicker head gasket on to bring the compression ratio down a bit (since the ported and polished head is going to be going on later down the road). Going to make the car a little safer to drive in the long run.

The car runs strong and intake temps and engine temps are normal with virtually no knock. Running the tune a little conservative. Basically told my tuner I want the car to be fast, but i want to play it safe.

Lol if you were in Cali i could help you build it, but if you have questions feel free to ask. Been through the process of s/c'n the 2.4 a number of times. Not too much different with the 2.2's mainly the tuning

Maybe if you have some documents that would help me out on what parts to gather and any tips or tricks would be great

Have there been any updates since 07? I know they make the 6-8pin harness for the LSJ TB, but I thought some LE5's came with 8pin TBs?

i have an 06 LE5 and it has an 8 pin harness but the harness needs to be rewired to work properly. Its in the how to. The only thing i really did different with the new build was using the lsj OEM idler pulley and Tensioner pulley.

Yeah Trevor has been tuning the beast. Its running nicely. Just a few tweaks to make here and there to polish out the tune.

And this would change the belt needed to a 5 rib instead of a cut, 4 rib, correct?

nah you still have to run the 4 rib because the le5 alternator, crank and a/c are all 4 rib. Just put the belt on the inner most rib, leaving the outside rib empty.

Yeah that black and white will be sick. I'll get my girl to get her uber camera loaded up and we can find a good place to do a shoot.

I thought we had 5 ribs and we had to cut 1 rib off of the 6 rib belt? lol idk never really payed attention. but your how to did help me out on some stuff that I got stuck on. I didn't think you were on this forum anymore since your activity looked gone lol

No you're right. I just had a brain fart. everything applies to what i previous thread, but yes LSJ is 6, LE5 is 5. Any way you do it unless you swap every pulley you'll have to cut a rib from the LSJ belt.

beck! Whats going on man? Can't believe you're still on here and building another LE5! I moved to Los Angeles - where in Cali are you? I'm thinking about dumping the S/C and throwing a super 60 on there. Maybe it will blow up finally.
