Bump

Gettin his car dialed with the 80s on gas.
Had a few issues with warm starts found out the 80s were drowning it lol so after some messing with it it fires right up.
Did alot of loggin in the hills in and out of boost alot and the temps stayed below 125 the entire time i was pleased.
We will continue with some WOT tuning once he gets the tank of bad gas out.

Thanks for your effort posting all this info. Your first thread was a great resource for me, Im doing the install on my 2.2 HHR right now, but I keep getting hung up on things. Right now, I cant manage to get the LSJ idler on. How the heck do you get the pulley, bolt, and your fingers in there? I found the cutout into the frame rail, but with the engine mount bracket on top there seems no way to manage it. Any helpful tips on that?

What he said. Try a wobble extension or a swivel socket. i also removed alternator to easier remove and install the idler assembly.

Ok found out the hole in the frame goes all the way through to the wheel well, that should let me get the bolt in the idler.

burned out all the bad gas and got a fresh tank in there. Tuned the car today and she's running great. Gonna watch this tune for a bit and the E85 switch will be coming soon.

Pat and I just swapped parts. He's going stock and im SCd now! Pats a really good guy and knowledgeable. He does recommend a new tune though to really bring out potential.

Update time.

Found out intercooler pump was going bad. Replaced pump and drastically cut intake temps.

Made the conversion to e85 and car feels great with advancements made to the timing, but still working out some issues with getting the 80lb fuel injectors to idle properly.

Did some hard pulls and car flies to 100. Will get a dyno day setup hopefully sometime before the end of the year once I have the tune dialed in.

Hey Beck, I know you have 9000 times the experience with SCing the 2.4 but I do have some input. For your intercooler pump use one from a mustang SVT. they are brushless unlike the bosch, which is why they fail so often.

Yup, Stock fuel system, zzp 80's, but im running an LS4 tb, not sure if its adding to our problem here. I'd love to compare your settings to mine and see if maybe we're missing something. What RPM are you idling at?

The symptoms are strange mostly because the car will idle 100% fine sometimes, but the biggest issues im having is when im slowing down some times the car has trouble finding idle and will either stall on rare occasions or the idle with surge for a few seconds before it catches idle. We set our idle RPM a little higher (around 900rpm) and it helped a little bit but still not 100%
