Broke college student wants to go faster!
Ive got a 2006 SS bone stock and its driving me crazy with the amount of power it has at low rpms, where should I start in terms of upgrading? I have a bit of a budget

as in below 3k? Not much will affect that. Correct gear selection is your friend I suggest revving to at least 4k in first with our trans so it wont dog as you shift to second.

Well yeah I know that but even around 4 it just not quite there... where do I begin? anything under 500 that I will be able to notice?

Stage 3 from ZZP or OTTP is a start. roughly that price range. Will give a nice bump. Honestly man a lot of people on here will tell you to search and they are right! There is a lot of great info on here.

As for OP. Full bolt ons won't really impress you on a 2.4. I'd say save up for a supercharger kit

Lol, damn it you bastards posted already. I was going to say "Focus on school, graduate and get a good job" For now, save the chump change and go to the used parts section if you WANT to do something with your car now. You NEED to take care of school first. Don't worry young polywog, you will have your time to play too. Everything has its time and place.

Like I did myself with my 2.4, I'd buy a supercharger kit. You'll spend anywhere from $800-$1200 depending on gauges you get.
Definetly worth it if you're looking for some more fun from your car. You may even be able to take stock SS/SC cobalts with it.
On a stock 3.34" pulley you will be fine driving. I'm not sure how well the stock exhaust manifold will hold with it but you could find a used one, or budget for a new one.
I've been SCd for around 12k miles with my stock clutch and still no slipping. I'm not sure if it's the original clutch but I've got 85k miles on my car now.

Once again thanks for all the feedback! Ive been looking around and I found the complete LDK engine on ZZP. if i went all out and bought this motor how many mods would I have to do to make it fit? Is it going to be a ton of work? and will your general aftermarket parts fit this motor or will i have to find them just for that motor? Thanks guys!

You'd pretty much need to rewire you entire car if you don't want to loose the basic accessories inside. If all you wanted to do is make it run you'd only need a new ECM.
SC is the best way to go faster on a budget.
