heres a big problem with cobalts, is the tranny

ether you upgrade the clutch, axles, or tranny..only doing one or two of these will resault in unwanted strain on the other part(s)

not only that but the tranny clutch and axles cost alot of money, and there isnt even tranny upgrades right now.

thats why i am done, its a fun peepy car, but i want a goal of 12's and i cant get that without extensive tranny work.

dude theres a lot of work for cheap on a tranny and yea u actully can get a cobalt to 12s ppl make cobalts drag cars that can run 11s theres sooo much u can do with a cobalt but DSM cars there are more mods but in the end you will be happier with a balt

there is not many street 12 second cobalts out there. specially ones running a heaton.

and i dunno, i honestly would be happier with a 700 awhp DSM then a 350 hp cobalt.

 

you would be happier breaking a 700+AWHP DSM than a 350+ balt? honestly it dont matter what you have done **** WILL break at either power level on either car.. and as far as 12's go no matter what car you have breaking 12's in a street legal car aint done without breaking ****. unless you have a 500+ hp car off the lot.. which niether is.. you talk about tranny upgrades when people have SURPASSED 300WHP on a balt with the FACTORY clutch/tranny/axels.. it aint very strong but people have broken 400+ with the F35.. and hasnt HAHN had quite a few 400+ HP j body's that run the F23...? and have not broke? either way man good luck and happy modding with whatever you choose..

 

Why would you want a 700 awhp DSM? I mean no offense but do your really street race that much that you want a car that can beat a ZR1 and Ferrari's and Porsche's that much? I can't imagine that you see so many cars where you live that can truly justify a 700 hp car not that i think that a 700 hp car needs justification but i just don't see the point in building a car like that unless you have nothing better to do then spend time at a track or driving everywhere embarrasing people that have 150K plus sports cars.
I mean hey man your right i bought my cobalt with intentions of making 350-400 hp out of it and everytime i read a post like this i totally get your point and want to sell it because i could buy an SRT-4 or a DSM, STI, EVO whatever but then i think people are used to seeing those be sweet street racing cars and track dominance powerhouses, i don't street that much if at all, but i do know that i loved seeing the puzzled look on peoples faces not knowing what a SS/SC was when it first came out when i walked them. I remember the first time i ever saw an SRT-4 on the street when they came out didn't know what it was this was in 03 before i really got big into cars and wanting a fast one i saw that ******* thing blow a mustangs doors and about crapped myself!

You do what you gotta do bro but hypothetically speaking lets say you get your 700 Dsm and i get my 400 SS and we happen meet up at the light unknowingly you know you've got me beat already so why even bother racing me and i know i'm beat so why bother racing you? I'd still give it a shot because i've got something i built up thats rarely seen and you my friend would be the winner but also the one getting leg humped by every ricer and fast and furious fanatic that has wanted a Dsm like that since the movie came out.

**** i would even take you to the nearest ice cream parlor and buy you a ice cream just because you raced me and fed me some pride.

what i was refering to is

it would probly cost around the same amount to build a high horsepower dsm compared to a 300-400 horsepower cobalt.

 

hey im not gonna lie i street race alll the time!!!! and i love it you get a lot more pride beating someone that talks **** about your car i hear "that little 4 cyl ant got ****!" i hear that saying all the time and little do they realize i blow them out of the water and they don t talk anymore i love that haha

 

projekt...i was thinking.....you can build up a dsm to 700 hp , i'll build up my rb26 to 700 hp and we will kill everything out here lol, i know some people that would love to build up our motors for us !!!!!
