Hmm....that really makes no sense. Check the connections and make sure they are snug. The exhaust sensor is the one on the back side of the valve cover and may still be malfunctioning. As far as the other code, check the small little rubber tube running from the stock intake to the valve cover. You may have broken in, split it, or its clogged. You need to take it into a shop so they can check the electronics, b/c it should not be throwing that code if you replaced both sensors - unless your wiring is bad.

 

I hadn't replaced the cam sensors yet. I'm doing that today. So it was giving me those codes after I replaced the map sensor.

 

Well I changed it and of course I reset it and it the light came back on. At this point, chevy is going to have to look at this because this isn't making any sense to me.

BTW...it only has one cam sensor and it's next to the intake on the driver side. I also checked the rubber hose on the intake and it's good and clear. I have yet to take it to AZ to see what codes came up. So just hold tight that day.

 

This happened to my G5 recently. I can't rmr for sure if the code ended in 14 or 13. Anyways I ended up just taking it to the dealership bc it was still under warranty. they claimed to simply replace the sensor and fixed it. Then offered to clean some buildup somewhere but my dad said they just do that to try to get you to spend money. Once they "replaced" the actuator solenoid it won't away. But it recently did it again same code same problem. But it isn't constant. Sometime I won't have a check engine light sometimes it does. Last time I took it in because my car started to sputter and I could feel it jumping when I was idle at stop lights. But I'm not 100% sure where te problem is located. I suspect my intake might be interfering because when I installed it I tightened the clamp to much and bent the part where the heat shield and intake touch. So I think maybe it not being completely sealed is a problem, but I didn't start getting codes until I had my exhaust installed. So my only advice is ask the dealership to explain it to you, and maybe ask them how regularly they need to be changed. Because to me if I have to start getting this solenoid replaced every 3-5 months something must be seriously wrong.

 

Thanks for bringing that to my attention speed. I think that's why they got rid of these cars is because they were badly engineered...idk. But this is rediculous to change all these sensors and have a check engine light. I have a '89 taurus sho and it doesn't even have a check engine light. But this car here is just an '06 and it's giving me problems...constantly.

 

No there are two cam sensors, they are right next to each other in the trench on the valve cover. The one towards the back is the exhaust. But it sounds like the sensor isnt bad. Take it to the dealership, thats your best bet.

 

hope its not what happened to me not to long ago, had to replace the actuators and it cost me a pretty damm penny from the dealer, hope everything works out cheap for you!

 

Exactly where is the second cam sensor located? I need to know. Had the one replaced near the oil cap (intake, i guess) but I can't find the other one. Please help.

 

Only the VVTs have a second cam sensor, the exhaust sensor is out of sight behind the head at the edge of cylinder #4, the wiring it connects to comes straight off the main harness as it runs along the fuse box.
