well put a new starter in and charged the battery because it was dead. went to start it and it started right up. drove it around my block ran great. got it him turned it off and started it right back up about 3 times started right up. 20 min later went to start it was making the same sound in the video and would not start. so im guessing its the battery its the stock battery so its 7yrs old. So that is my next step.

Well replaced the battery car still won't start. Only thing that happens is the starter spins but its not spinning the flywheel and the engine is not turning over.

Your flywheel could have some teeth ground off from the starter. What did the flywheel look like when you had the starter removed?

Another thing to think about... I changed my starter at 160,000 miles about a month ago, and it didn't have nearly as much black clutch dust on it, and I'm still on the original clutch. I think you have something interfering with the proper engagement of the starter gear and the flywheel.

When I pulled the started it had alot of clutch dust on it but the teeth looked good from what I can see. The car is acting like its not getting enough volts to kick the starter to spin the flywheel. My clutch was replaced 5 years ago.

check your batter connectiosna nd the wires at teh starter again. just a little loose and you can have to big of a voltage drop. you could also have bad cables, is there any visible corrosion on the cables?

Nope cables look brand new on the battery ill check the wires again on the starter to make sure they are tight. I tired using my dads truck to jump it and still wouldn't start.

So i ended up calling GM customer service since i had taken the car in under warranty twice for this issue. They told me i had to bring the car back to the dealer to have them fix it. So today they called me and told me they have no clue whats going on with my car and why it wont start sometimes and not another. If by tomorrow they cant figure it out they will be having a GM engineer go out and look to see whats going on with the car.

My car did this when it was brand new a few times. Even had it towed under warranty. Never did it since. If you have any aftermarket electronics, disconnect them from power source completely and try again. Never hurts to remove any and all variables from OEM.
