Is the Solstice 2.4L the same as the 06 Cobalt SS 2.4L engine. Would parts from the pontiac solstice be interchangable with the cobalt?

 

same engine...but but the 2.4L sits in the engine bay vertically...I don't think many parts will fit off of that car.

 

Solstice is RWD.... Cobalt is FWD.... parts won't fit. Try sticking with cars on the same platform. Ion... other Cobalts... Pontiac G5...

I think you mean it is mounted longitudinally in a Solstice and transversely in a Cobalt.

It really depends on what parts you're talking about...but the entire engine bay is arranged differently, so most parts will not be interchangable.

internals would be the same--cly head too. Block would be a bit different--because everything is mounted differently.

There would be a fairly high degree of comonality of parts since they are the same engine but not everything because of the RWD VS FWD application.
