FYI- there is absolutley no difference in the block between the RWD vs. FWD applications. About the only thing that's significantly different is the exhaust manifold.

you seem like a pretty smart guy so I'll take your word on that. I was just guessing....I know some GM engines from the past....ie 2.8L V6 there were some changes with a FWD VS RWD block. In that case it would not be a direct swap if you had to use the other version
