Si2SS im not bashing you, i didnt read much of the thread, its mostly useless, but i am curious as to what your car ran in that video?

Me and another guy will be racing our 2.4's at the track this friday, be nice to have a time to compare to, then we can put this thread to rest.

he wont post a time, he knows it sucked. He knows that the SS/SC he raced either was a bad driver or had a small fit of narcolepsy for 1/2 a second while shifting hahaha

he may not cooperative with the people hes arguing with, i would just like to know his time. I have been lookin on honda forums and the average is is a low 15, about 15.3, few exceptions of a high 14, just like the 2.4 cobalt.

So i was curious to what he ran

Back on topic, the question was would a 2.4 SS beat a new Si? Considering the mods in teh SS, I would give it a respectable chance. I have both a 2006 SS/SC and a 2007 SS/NA. When I go to the track my wife races the SS/NA. Hers is an auto though. Obviously, by the mods listed in the OP you would recognize the most important thing on the SS. The shift+. That means the damn thing is an auto. I have yet to ever see a auto Si. That shift+ actually does some good. There is another member on this forum (Fire Starter) that I race with. He has a 2.4 auto coupe with a shift plus. One day, in a time trial, I forgot to turn off my A/C on my SS/SC. His shift plus, along with his GMPP header kept him real close. He was only 2/10's off my time. Again, I still had the A/C on. He will confirm this. Also, his car is about 1/2 a second faster than my SS/NA. My SS/NA is a manual trans and a sedan. Therefore, I think the SS with the shift+ could edge out the Si.

I hope this info helps.

BTW, I also used to work for a Honda dealership before getting my CDL. I am familiar with the new Si's in both sedan and coupe.

Omg thanks lol i didn't want this to get this outta hand but w/e i love this forum cause something can start with cars and end with everyone hugging eachother for no reason strange isn't it??

i read a cobalt ss/sc owner call our cars dogs... i found that quite amusing seeing as these cars are only about a second slower in the 1/4 mile without forced induction, no offense but dont bash the 2.4's, they are great cars and you only make an extra 30hp then mine with a supercharger on yours soo...

Dont get me wrong i love the SS/SC's, wish i coulda had one but i love my 2.4 and see no reason for other cobalt owners to put down these cars...

Yeah, I've had an SS/SC owner call my car a fake SS. I brought up that point as well as others, and his only counter arguments were "WELL AT LEAST I'M NOT DRIVIN A FAKE SS"

oh and, IBTL

Not to down the 2.4 in anyway...but there are lot of ss/sc's running low 14's stock.....most 2.4's are running very low 15's. Thats alittle closer to a second in the quarter...which is alot. Its all good though.

Dont try to figure it out, its a yes or no question.
Yes I have done it, but the IRL driver had never been to the track

Here is a video for your amusement. Now even with this video I dont cliam that I can beat every IRL or SS/SC out there. But vidoes of races not mean anything when the other driver can not drive. And I only ran a 15.3 @ 92mph that run lol

Also Im the one on the far side, the inside lane was a stock IRL

Also this thread gave me about 30 mins of pure laughter

Of course it can be done...everyone has agreed to that...but car for car the si is not faster than ss/sc which something si2ss cannot understand. Also did that IRL run a 18 something???? Was he f***in sleeping...how the hell can u even run that......damn...he's beyond not being able to drive....

Ah cut him some slack, it was his first time ever being at a track much less running. He was staging at like 4k sumped the clutch and had nothing but wheel hop and spin and then basicly cam to a stop and started over again from a slow first gear roll. After we left the track that night we raced on the street from a 15mph roll to about 105 and I was dead even with him till I topped out my third gear at 97 and his went to 102ish.
