Same here, I wish I would have come across this website sooner. I would have bought an ss/sc off another member, or waitedt for the TC to come out. But I bought the SS/NA because there were no SC's for sale around here at that time. I should have waited a few months since there was a black one shortly after I bought mine.

I wasn't trying to start this arguement. I was just merely pointing out that they are both a cobalt, there are some differences in parts that make one better then another. But they are still a cobalt, and people shouldn't rip on another members car just because its not as fast or it doesn't look as good. YOu do things to your own car to suit your own needs, not someone elses.

We can all sit here and point fingers and yes this is one of the leading causes for the start of the arguements. But the 2.4 guys don't need to take it so seriously and the 2.0 guys don't need to run their mouths so much. Why not try to look at the better side of both cars.
Its funny because a lot of the guys with 2.0's now were probably the same guys in the Z24 before the cobalt came out. That is a lesser of an engine then that of the CObalt SS/NA.

 

i like both cars, if i had the chance i would jump onto an SS/TC right now lol

There's a loaded black '08 SS/TC that's been on my local lot for about 3 weeks now.......I guess no one wants it. I should go over there and offer my car for straight across trade to take it off their hands, haha.

thats funny considering i raced a 4door si last weekend even from a 40 roll i pulled 3 cars

 

they are over hyped, they have the potential to be fast but most newbie teenagers who dont have a clue on how to drive own them, put big heavy wings on them and a coffee can

 

you must remember i'm AUTOMATIC and my only supporting mod to fight back against a 6m is the shiftplus and power wise is my k&n sri

 

then dont race him, its a damn race not the end of the world. Only way to find out who will win is if u race him, 10000 people could say ur car is faster, but its not going to give it any extra horsepower.

i raced at New england dragway this weekend i ran a15.31 and my friend ran a 15.26 in his Si. its avery close race. his was a 4 door stick and mines a 2 door stick. he has an intake and cat back. i have an intake. so its all a drivers race IMO

 

Just tell himyou want to race for fun ON A TRACK designated for racing. Keep it off the street. If he wins, give him props, if you win he should give them to you. Congratulate whomever on the win, and if they act like asses about winning or losing, then they are not worth your time. Remember that true friends won't pull that **** on you. Those that aren't true friends won't be there the rest fo your life and their opinions don't mean ****. Your education and sports are what should matter, showing off momy and daddies money is irresponsible in their parts. Especially if you pay for your own car and not your parents.

 

IMO if you have to use someone else's car to beat your opponent something is obviously wrong

I'm jumping in a little late on this thread, and I don't feel like reading every page to see if someone's asked this or not, but I'm guessing you have never taken your car to a drag strip to see what it runs. If that's the case to give you an idea of what you might run, my wife's ss ran a 16 flat with just an intake and her's is an auto. I don't know how good the shift plus works but I would guess you are probably somewhere in the high 15's. That being said I've seen si's run from 14.9 to 16. Like everyone else is saying it really comes down to the driver. He should beat you in the si since you automatic, but if he can't drive you win and you can make fun of him for a losing to you in a car that is supposed to be faster than yours. As far as a TT goes you are looking at about mid 14's, so if you are worried about your rep don't do it. You should kill the outlander:

You wanted an idea of how your car would do, this is my oppinion. If you really want to know, forget about this thread and just race him and see. But do it at a track, cause street racing can get you in a lot of trouble. Here's a tip, you might have better luck with the si in an eighth mile. Well that's my two cents.

a lot of honda civic owners,some which can be cool at times, and others who are stuck in their bullshit world thinking having 160hp will beat anything in site with a big ass wing and a fart can.You could have a good chance of beating him,also since that guy seems like a retard,he most likely can't shift for ****.I say if you had a completed exhaust system and new header you would beat the queer for sure.
