CAT vs. No CAT

I just had a question about getting a new DP. IS there any difference if i were get a cattless DP rather than a catted one. And if i do get a cattless one will it still pass PA emmissions and inspection. Any help is awesome!!

To answer your questions:
The difference will be that a catless DP will give you a louder, more obnoxious exhaust tone (IMHO) and will give you a Check Engine light unless you get a tune to deactivate it. There is minimal, if any, flow/power benefit from a catless versus a high-flow cat, the catless DPs are just usually cheaper by ~$100-150.

And for your second question: (From the IL emissions perspective) No, it will not pass emissions and inspections. The Check Engine light alone will fail you, and if that doesn't the exhaust sniffer and/or visual inspection will.

I would keep the cat. If you take it off it does turn much louder plus it won't much if any power unless it's turbocharged. Alot of inspection places can tell just by listening to it wether it has a cat or not and they probably won't pass you.

does this applys for the SC as well? im refering to minimal notice on power.
im on the same page, my next mod is to get a downpipe but im still debating on High flow cat or catless? Will high flow cat pass emissions test? But if High flow cat fails i mine as well buy catless. thanks

Catless, for anything other than a turbocharged engine will have little effect on performance versus a high-flow counterpart. Even on a TC'd engine, the gains are minimal and, IMO, not worth the headache of trying to find someone who will pass its inspection.

And yes, a high-flow cat should pass emissions as long as you aren't running a ridiculously rich tune. And you've addressed any CEL's that may appear.
