Cobalt SS/SC exhaust on 2.4

Hi everyone!

I want to know if it's a good idea to buy Header Exhaust Manifold + Downpipe + Cat from SS/SC ? I already have a magnaflow muffler.

I want better flowing for the motor and as I'm on a budget, it might be a good route to go. Also, I'm stick!

Waiting for your advice on my idea thanks!

Buy zzp.
The ss/na muffler is the same as ss/SC so I would imagine that the rest would be the same.

Get the header dp combo or get the other brand that ppl has recommended.

False, the ss/sc downpipe flows much better than the ss na because the ss na has the same exhaust as a base cobalt besides the muffler. Don't get the ss/sc exhaust manifold tho, buy a real header.

umm what!?!?

OK the SS/NA uses the same DOWNPIPE as a 2.2 but the cat back is IDENTICAL to the SS/SC. a header and DP would be your best bet and then an exhaust later on if you get more $$.

a BADMAD header can be had for under 200 adn then a 2.5 inch DP from ZZP is also under 200 i believe

The entire exhaust minus the downpipe is the same between a 2.4 and an SC. I'm running an LSJ downpipe on mine with a GMPP catback split to dual outlet with two GMPP mufflers. Also deleted the resonator due to scraping.

Badmab or if you have the money the ZZP long tube (wont work with the LSJ downpipe as it comes with its own)

And just to have all the info on the same page.

LSJ exhaust manifold = same as LE5 (2.4)
LSJ Catback = Same as LE5 (2.4)
LSJ Downpipe = Different than the LE5 (2.4) it also uses a high flow cat compared to the standard cat in the 2.4 (and if your an 08 2.4 the LSJ only has 1 cat where we have 2). It should also be noted that the LSJ downpipe will only fit manual cars.

But honestly if you have the cash (saw that your on a budget). Id just go with a badmab header and zzp catted downpipe (the cheap route) or the ZZP longtube with a cat (the more expensive route).

Think you can do a badmab and a catted zzp downpipe for about 400 shipped. I think... Otherwise the badmab and the lsj downpipe will net you some gains and the exhaust note will be more aggressive.

Both of those will net you a bit more power than just going with stock LSJ parts. Also the reason I said catted is to kill off a bit of rasp and keep some back pressure as well as just staying partially legal. And not to mention that the high flow cats really dont kill off any power at this power level.

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate! I'm gonna look to maybe a aftermarket header and DP depending on price. Thanks again!

That'll definately give you an increase in hp for sure. You should also get the cti 2.5 inch axle back kit. What this does is replace the 2.25 section of exhaust just before your muffler. Then you'll have a custom 2.5 inch exhaust. Heres the link.
