Coolant line after removing plastic engine covering..

What have you all been doing with the Coolant line that runs over top of the fuel rail (in front of the spark plugs). It's the one with the 10 inch or so metal piece in the center ... you can see it here.

I've always left mine just sitting there, but I'd like to find something more attractive if I can..

BTW< not my engine, that's from MRZ performance's site.

You can get some retainers that GM used on the Ion engines or fabricate your own. The plastice retainers slip over the fuel rail and hold the tube down. it'll take me some time to get the part numbers I used......

If you can enlarge this shot there are 2 of them (black plastic) clipped on the fuel rail holding down the overflow tube.

Can you see them?

It's hard, but I can see it being held down. Just hard to make out the clips.

the LSJ uses an little elbow piece at the head... I've always wanted to use that to reroute the hose along the front-radiator support rather than over the engine..

never have time/willpower to do it

Damn man, that's beautiful - good work.

Yeah, if you get a chance to get the part number, that's pretty much what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Here are some part numbers of clips to hold down the surge tank hose/tube:

2006 Saturn Ion, A Eng, Call #15/17:

22689818 Clip, Rad Surge Tank
22711839 Clip, Rad Surge Tank
22683716 Clip, Rad Surge Tank -- this is the one I started with. It is a large double-clip attached with a bar that slips over the fuel rail and the metal tube goes into the top and there are snap-in flaps that hold the tube in place. I cut it apart (got rid of the bar) so that only the towers were left and even trimed some of the plastic edging so that they fit around the fuel injector wire better.
