Cosmo Short throw shifter
Does anyone on here have this shifter?
If you do, how much of a reduction does there seem to be between gears? How much shorter is it physically? Did you have any problems installing it? And how is it for reliability, have you had any problems with it?

i have the cosmo(p clear) shifter and it works fine, ive had it on for about 10k miles and no issues at all. the only complaint i have is the shifter knob is an odd thread and im having trouble finding a new shift knob. the knob that comes with it is chrome and gets f'in hot in the summer sun.

I've also had bad luck with universal knobs. That one comes with inserts so I think the inserts are threaded. I'ld like a new knob also. I think my shifter is the same as the Casmo, but I'm not sure. my threads are 12mmx1.25 or 1.5. I can't remember which.

I have read on a few other posts that some of the e-bay shifters aren't true sts. Those of you who have the ebay shifters, did you actually notice an actual shorter throw between gears?

the most important thing ive noticed is when someone is riding shotgun and you put it in 5th gear you dont have to move their leg because the shifter is stuck out too far.

Is it the Razo? Can you post a link? I found out the Razo has a plastic insert and your threads cut into it. Have you tried this type?

Ebay Cavalier one that I have came with RLO, but you can leave it off if you like. I just used it to hold up my shifter boot. The RLO is only held on by 1 pin (5sec. to remove). With lock out removed it looks just like Cosmo Ion shifter.

they're very similar however from what i've seen with other peoples cars.. cosmo makes decent stuff.. and it's still cheaper then a big name brand.. the cosmo one will have directions for my car haha...
mostly i was just saying that paying for a B&M or TWM or HURST is rediculous... there are much better solutions such as the ones you've shown... it's 60$ for the cosmo shifter shipped according to their site... and it's about 40 for the EBAY ones... so there's not much difference in price but it's still 1/2 of a name brand... i dunno I'm debating back and forth between the cosmo and a knock off
+ rep to you for posting all those options for peoples though

this will help if you go with the Ebay shifter Blue http://www.twmperformance.com/manual..._%20Manual.pdf

well i finally got around to fitting a different knob onto the cosmo shifter. it turns out the thread pattern is m12-1.25 which is like a specialty thread size. i lucked out and found a tap at pepboys(home depot, lowes, grainger, northern tool all didn't have that size). here's some pics of what was needed to tap new threads in the ebay resin shifter.
a drill capable of chucking a 1/2" bit, 1/2" bit, 10.5mm bit(it came with the tap), a 12mm-1.25tap
here's a pic of before, and that damn shift knob gets hot
here's a pic of after, i counter sunk the threads with a 1/2" bit so the knob could screw down further.
