At A Crossroad....

Well..here i am..installed my clear image header/downpipe (2.5 downpipe). now my exhaust sounds like ass...(3" flopro mufler is why) so im gonna buy a catback...

now ive looked at alot of them...and it seems GMPP sounds really good...but do i want to neck down my 2.5 to 2.25?? wouldnt it be better if i went with a 2.5" cat-back?? im really not sure on what to do...any help would be great, idealy id like GMPP (since i can get one used cheap) but its a 2.5 will give me better gains, well 2.5 it is...

thoughts and comments please, i need help.

just get 2.5 inch all the way. if you like the sound of the GMPP then get it. Borla sounds nice too.

Worry about size when you make more than 250 whp.

Period.

Go with what sounds best, and put a ******* cat in your DP.

**** goddman it's about FLOW not size

GM comes with quality muffler and resonator and 2.25 madnrel bent will still flow way better than the stock setup

yes but what i am worried about is how i am necking down from a 2.5 to 2.25...straight thro with a 2.5 would yield better would it not?

regarldess, i want the gmpp, cuz i know it sounds very good..what style did you get mike?

i got performance/sport version.......

and like i said it's about flow and velocity... if your not making enough power to justify the 2.5 then the gases will slow down.. lose velocity.. lose power...

i would have no worries about 2.25 on yours, but i'm sure 2.5 would not make much of a difference

Why not get Magnaflow then? They make both 2.25" and 2.5" systems for our cars. I have the 2.5" on mine and I love the sound.

gmpp sounds decent by itself, but shitty if you have a dp/header. I did that and got rid of it. I think your best bet would be to get a zzp resonator and a magnaflow muffler and have a shop put it all together. I did that and it sounds great.

I'm going for the Megan. Magnaflow is probably the best, but it's not worth the extra $200, IMO. And I don't want to go custom, because I want to install it myself.

you wont need anything bigger then the gmpp until you wanna hit the 270+ hp mark. anom proved it worked great until then.

I have the gmpp sport and absolutely love the sound. I dont have header dp, but my friend does and it makes the gmpp sound even better.

I have heard the magnaflow too. It sounds great, but its different... a little more harsh I would say, where the gmpp is deep and smooth sound.

hope that helps.

His set up did not sound bad before just alitte rasp up top. He has since added a spiralflow resenator and it has quited it down but still has a very low and deep tone with a lot of burbbleing while down shiffting. I like his set up better then mine to tell the truth
