Debut in mid-2005 as 2006 model
Getting tired of all the misinformation, so I thought I'd post the final word on model lineups. You can expect to see it late spring at the earliest, but more then likely mid to late summer. Also remember, the 2.4L will be AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ONLY.
Models
The Cobalt family includes multiple coupe and sedan models, giving small car buyers great variety. The sedan model features Base, LS and LT trims, while coupe models are available in Base, LS, and SS Supercharged trims. Each includes a specific interior, exterior appearance and wheels, as well as a long list of standard and available features. The Cobalt SS, with a 2.4L engine, will debut in mid-2005 as 2006 model.

How much is this thing gonna cost? I remember it being around 17,500 or so when it was still preproduction. Hopefully its cheaper than the S/C model, and hopefully it doesn't take so damn long to get it into the dealerships!

The persuit GT model will be in Manual, its using the same engine. Apparently GM doesnt have the same plans with the pontiac. I believe its mostly because we get the Cobalt SS, and Pontiac doesn't get a supercharged model for this year.

screw all this boost ****, where is the big N/A engine already? **** if suburu can put out a 2.5 N/A with AWD AND a manual, why cant chevy step up with a manual tranny on the 2.4 ecotec? I like bigger N/A engines, just to clear my prespective. So.... listen up Chevy!
