so you picked up around 15hp and 10lbs-ft? (+ or -1 a few) How much did that set up cost you?

Any plans to get some 1/4 mile times?

Doesn't show quite as pronounced a dip where the cams shift as with some dyno sheets I've seen (including the one of my old car). Great numbers!

Thats because the first thing to go was torque management, which causes the said dip.

Not quoting your quote, just directing this at ya.

If you had the AEM instead of the Injen, and the CA header instead of the Vibrant, we'd have identical mods, lol. Give or take a few things.....for instance I have 19" Axis wheels, Powerslots/Hawk pads, Ingalls ETD......and you have the Progress sway bar (which my lovelee gf is getting me for x-mas along with the Prothane bushings!). Just thought I'd throw that out there. Good work man! Can't wait to get mine on a dyno w/ HP Tuners. I have the stock LSJ injectors sitting in a box at my house, just gotta wait till money permits so I can get her tuned!

WOO HOO 20 hp for like 2k worth of mods am i the only one who sees something wrong with that? Just playing the % game the header and the CAI should get you to about 170 wp. Add the cat back and the tune should have you @ give or take 190 wp. Are the 32 lb/hr injectors too large for your application mabie?

2k sounds a little high considering all my mods in my sig cost me about 3k.

ok aside from the tune and the injectors.

cai +- 250
Cat back +- 600
Long tube header +- 400
32 lb/hr injectors +- 200 *
Dino tune +- 500

that looks like 1950 to me granted i guessed on injector price.

Not everyone pays retail prices. Maybe he bought some of the stuff used or got good deals. You can usually pick up the injectors for 50 off this site, tune prices vary as well.

for instance me mods/$
CAI-$90
Exhaust-$160
Tune-$free
all for 160whp.

retaill total for all that is more like $1k and it cost me 250.

Plus 171whp=200@ the crank so not bad for 30hp gain from some minor bolt-ons and a tune on a NA 4cylinder.

Injen CAI 7-10 hp $369.99
ARK N2 Catback 10 + hp$799.99
Vibrant Long Tube Header 12 + hp$694.98
32 LB/HR Injectors $240
New Era Tune generally 15 hp or more +- $500

Actual prices unless bought during a sale $2605 not including shipping or any installs. For 20 hpish and just going off hp claims from other people and the manufacturers your car should be in the ball park of 187-205 wp.

Reguardless of what he actually payed that is the established value of these parts and services. Im not ******* the guy im saying something has to be wrong with the tune or mabie just mabie those injectors are too big.

ARK N2- $760 (pre-ordered it through ARK directly)
XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe- $180
CA header- $200
AEM CAI- $250
SS/SC injectors- $50 from Dervin3

Then GTP is gonna have his friend Dan tune my car w/ HP Tuners on a dyno, which is gonna be $300.

All in all, $1,740. Hoping for 180-190whp. Ill likely get the tune after the holidays in late winter/early spring. I'm moving into a new apt in Jan, so moneys tight right now.

welcome to the world of N/A modding on a 4 cylinder...

there is nothing wrong with his peak #'s, 2.4's only put down around 150whp stock...if you think you're going to be putting out 180+whp from bolt ons and a tune you must be dynoing on a very generous dynojet.

Well i could tell ya right now the injectors are too big (or rather not needed yet). However as long as they are tuned correctly they will be putting the same amount as fuel as stock injectors just w/ a smaller duty cycyle %. And you can't just add up HP number claims from members and manufacturers, it doesn't work that way and the dyno shows that. Not every car is the same, not every dyno is the same, and not every tune is the same. I'm sure the dyno operator could fudge some numbers and come up in the 180whp-200whp. His 171whp is more of a 25 whp gain which like i said is pretty good with minor bolt-ons+ tune on a NA 4cylinder.

Wow , $500 to tune a car !

I charge $300-$400 flat rate (pending mods , $300 in this case , it's just a bolt on car), so you're a lil off but at least people know now . Those mods didn't cost this guy anywhere near what you are claiming , don't be so negative !

ok so some of you have shops in your area that dyno tune for a few hundred less or got the exhaust for $40 less. Thats what $2360 for 15 more poneys than just a $300 set of headders will add? I mean crap people are getting can tunes and netting almost as much for $350. Most bolt ons work in conjunction with not against. Ive been modding cars for going on a decade and any one who has been dooing it can tell you if your running an intake and an exhaust assuming you used the proper diameters for the aplication the combined effectiveness Should be a % better than the hp combines of the components seperate. IE if your CAI nets you 5 poneys and a cat back nets you 10 the combo should net you 16 or 17 ish because the increased flow in is backed up with a freer flowing out.

I started at roughly 145whp bought SRI/catback hit 155 then tune hit 165 then header/dp/hf cat hit 178. Spent about $2000. Next car I will be just getting custom everything except header(s) and aim to spend $1000ish. It only takes 1 car to realize your cash-flow mistakes and that retail isn't always the way to go.
