Question Engine Power Reduced/Engine Disabled Code

First of all I searched for this and only found someone having this issue due to having an after-market tune. My car has been running fine and has no modifications (other than removing the lower part of the stock airbox, which causes the CEL to come on occasionally) but today when I came out to go on lunch the car wouldn't start up and it was displaying Engine Power Reduced/Engine Disabled on the DIC. I sat there for a few minutes dumbfounded because the car has had no issues and this came out of nowhere but then I took the key out of the ignition and reinserted it and the car started up just fine and ran well. Has anyone else had this problem, if so what was the solution?

Thanks in Advance

The only other thing I can think of is the power steering recall. I know it affected my families cobalt 2.4 by shutting the car down.

Exclamation New info

thanks for the info cordia, ill check that out.. but unfortunately i think i have a different problem. I had these codes when i had it scanned P0010 P0011 P0606 P0607 P1174, thte guy that scanned it suggested that it was something like a a cam positioning actuator or sensor or something like that. Does anyone know of that issue?

Check the sensor wiring. We did also have an issue with it getting chafed on the families 2.4 (just remembered that)

My 2006 SS Scharged has been recently shutting off flashing "ENG PWR REDUCED" "ENGINE DISABLED" multiple times when hot, , , took it to dealer, covered under emissions warranty, PCM. I have an extended warranty and factory warranty has run out but GM has decided to pick up the tab on this. ??????? HMMMmmm???!!!!!

HELP...damsel in distress!!! lol!!! my car won't start..."engine powere reduced" and "engine disabled" comes up on the panel...i don't know what to do and i take care of my elderly mother who has cancer and need the car to get her to her appointments. does anyone have any helpful information that i could use to take care of this issue by myself or do i need to take it to a mechanic to get it repaired. we're struggling financially and i want to make sure before i take it in, so i don't get bamboozled with extra charges that i don't have the money to pay for. i have a 2006 chevrolet cobalt with 25,000 miles. i would truly appreciate any advice...from the bottom of my heart...graceful thanks!
