Engine Rattle on 2.4

Hey all. I tried searching for engine rattle on the 2.4 but all results pointed to the TC/SCs. I was wondering if anyone had a clue as to why my 2.4 engines rattles when im in drive and idling. If i switch gears while idling, neutral for example, the rattle stops. It also stops when im in drive and I accelerate.

Is there anything that would cause this engine rattle only when Im in drive and idling?

Check the heat shield by the exhaust manifold.

I've driven cars that did this and in fact my work truck does it also. Heat shield rattles in drive but no other time and would bet its your issue.

Shield could be loose or bent or broken. With transmission in drive puts tension on engine causeing rattle.
