engine swap
lets say hypothetically 200,000 miles later my 2.4L engine takes a ****, do you guys think its possible to swap my 2.4L out with a 2.0L? People do swaps with civics all the time, i was wondering if GM engineers would be kind enough to give us that interchangeability?

Think about it realistically. How old are you? You have '06 with probably 40k miles...In 7-9yrs you will hit the magic 200k mark you mentioned. You will be hard pressed to find a low mileage 2.0 s/c in good condition worthy of swap. Maybe a 2.0 turbo will be out then. Even so, 7yrs from now you will robably be making more money and you won't want a cobalt. You might want a G37. Anyways, just for the hell of it, if you like working on cars it may be worth it to you to go through all that trouble.
You can get a brand new 2.0 s/c crate engine for $3,000ish.
